Called Stark Services, and explained the issue I was having with my HVAC unit. I was under the assumption I had a refrigerant leak and bad compressor due to the hissing sound coming from my the heat pump condenser. The techs came out and looked at it.The tech said my unit needed a new fan, refrigerant, and compressor without testing the equipment needed. Due to the high estimate provided for repair of the equipment, my wife and I were told that itd be better to go ahead and purchase a new air handler and condenser.After about an hour of discussing the options and explaining multiple times that the estimate was way overpriced for the work, the sales rep left.About 30 mins after that a different company (which shall remain nameless) comes by, starts the ac up. He Tests the capacitor output and replaces the capacitor on the condenser. There were no refrigerant leaks, no compressor issue, no fan motor issue.Heed my warning Stark Air is a bunch of crooks and steer clear of them at all costs. Dont be fooled into purchasing a new unit when its not within your budget or necessary.
