- How did you get started doing this type of work?
We disliked the idea of boarding our dogs at facilities that charge extra for play time and just being unsure if our dogs were actually receiving it. We prefer to include play time in our rates. We also weren't sure if other facilities had night care for additional potty and exercise. Some don't have that service. At Fluffy's all stays include night time slumber potty exercise sessions. We also wanted to be affordable.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Make sure the facility or sitter has secure gates, fencing, and no other possibly aggressive dogs that will be left unsupervised with your dog. Ask where your dog is put when the sitter/boarder leaves. If boarding a puppy or young dog- ask if the home/facility is 'puppy-proof' such as electrical cords to chew on or small parts to choke on. Ask if there is night care.
