FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing system is pretty easy actually. If it is a small event I bring a basic setup which includes a sub, a couple of powered speakers with stands and my dj setup two turntables, mixer, computer and mic. I typically charge 500 dollars minimum to do a wedding or coprporate event up to 5 hours. Lights and extra sound can be added for an additional charge depending on how much sound and lights but i try to make everything reasonable. If you like House music and would like me to spin at a house party or club etc. I would do the same amount of time and equipment but charge less. Maybe 350-400. I do this because I still like to make a profit to support my family. but i have more of an interest in doing these types of events. I just enjoy it more and its less work for me to prepare etc. As far as recording and mastering or party planning, promotion, etc it is a case by case basis depending budget, and compatability etc.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After we agree on a price I try to make it as easy as possible for my clients without putting a lot as far as risk out for either of us. To save a date for me to dj for you usually comes with a 50 dollar cash deposit. if its business related i provide you with an invoice that includes what you are getting listed individually and price. If not i will give you some sort of receipt. If you are the type that insists on a contract I have no problem with that as well, I try to be as flexible as possible.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I don't do any kind of state credited education but yes like anything you have to stay current with all the changes that go on in your profession. For instance I still use the Technics which used to be the first actual way to do it with vinyl. Although that way is almost obsolete I still do it that way, because i like it. But I can use controllers, Cdj's, Just my computer, tractor, serato etc. Though these ways are easier I still need to know how to do them all because i could be in the position where that's all i have to mix on. In those situations I am not really worried because I have taken the time to learn them so I am prepared for whatever comes my way.
