I had a few odds and ends that needed to be done which were completed flawlessly (replace toilet seat, hang heavy, oversized pictures, install a screen door, replace high ceiling light bulb, replace motion sensing lights in garage). Johnny arrived on time, was courteous, well mannered and professional the entire time he was here. I will call on Blast's Way again without hesitation for future handyman needs.

I hired this company to clean my parents' house based on the positive reviews and was not disappointed. I don't recall the manager's name (Mark?) but he was very polite, professional, and helpful. 3 ladies came to the house and were there for about 3 & 1/2 hours. They dusted everywhere, cleaned the bathrooms, kitchen, windows, swept the floor and vacuumed. They did a good job overall but missed the area between the shutters and windows. Mark had them come back to clean that area the next day. I am happy with the work and the experience was pleasant. Will definitely hire them again for another cleaning job!

We purchased a brand new home and wanted to replace the tile and carpet in the living areas. We had approximately 1,200 sq ft tiled by Delcid's Painting & More. The entire crew was professional and worked diligently during the entire project. They were always on time and even worked after normal hours to get the job done. Even with all of the other million and one expenses that come with a new home, Delcid's Painting and More was very reasonably priced. And for the work the did, it ended up being a bargain actually. We were very pleased with their tile work that we decided to hire them to paint our walls. The painter was a true professional. He rarely used tape and painted straight lines free hand. Overall, we are very happy it all got done, and within budget! Recommending to family and friends.

I needed an emergency house cleaning and so I called ' Grass Monkeys ' . I spoke with a very pleasant lady Michelle who got me someone right away. It's not like other companies where I needed to wait for a day to get an appointment to get someone . I mean she was very professional and amazing and she came through for me right away... you can say they know when an 'emergency is an emergency ' The HK I got Amy was very nice and friendly and sweet. she was very professional and knew what she was doing so I'd recommend Grass Monkeys to anyone . I'm so glad Thumbtack recommended me to them for sure 👍🏻

Sheet rock work in our garage was amazing as was his concrete work between our barn and house. His tile work around our fireplace and the back splash in our kitchen was excellent as well. We also used him for framing and finishing a living area above our garage. This include installing laminate flooring, insulation and window units. He also completed a porch project outside our utility room. Our last project was to replace all the windows and doors in a mother-in-law cottage. His quoted price was accurate as was his estimate on completing each project. We used him multiple times during the course of a year and we wwre always pleased with the results

Adan responded to my custom request for help removing the glass panel in my oven so it could be cleaned. I'd seen some videos on YouTube and it looked like a fairly complicated process. Not to mention what a pain it would be if the glass broke. Adan and I traded messages about the project. I was satisfied that he had the skills and knowledge to help. He was able to come by the same day. The project wasn't as difficult as I feared but I'm really glad that I hired Adan to do it. The oven door is cleaned and reinstalled. Looks great! Thank you!

Tim and his associate are very professional. He had kept in touch with me regarding the status of the replacement glass for my front door. The glass is on backorder. It hasn't yet arrived, so I can't comment on the quality of the work. So far, I would recommend Bullseye.

Hugo was exactly what I was looking for. My project was replacing a the back door and window onto my back patio with a set of double French doors. I grew up in construction and I typically do most of my own projects so what I wanted was someone to remove the door and window, frame in and install the the new French doors, compete drywall and let me organize the rest of the trades. This also means I have experience so know what to look for and I am very picky.....so take this into consideration when reading my review. I contacted Hugo on Wednesday, he was there when he promised that evening to look over the job and quote and showed up on time that Friday to perform the job. He was very thorough, cleaned up after himself as he was going so my house was not a mess and delivered exactly what he said he would for a fair price and with great quality. No messing around, no mistakes, no extras. I was very impressed! I will be using Hugo again for future projects and would refer him to any of my friends.

Stan and his crew are awesome!! They removed my old fence and built a new fence with two gates. They did a beautiful job. My fence looks fantastic. They also did some wood repairs on my house and some landscaping. They did an excellent job. I am really pleased with the way everything turned out. Stan is very punctual, honest and his prices are reasonable. I highly recommend him.

David came out from Cypress in traffic on a Fri to replace my back door window that a thief broke out the night before. All the other companies I called to replace my window told me Tues Wed or Fri after Memorial Day Holiday (2018) . David responded immediately and drove back out to my side of town FM 1960.after finishing a job over here. The price was VERY reasonable!!!! David explained everything to me and was VERY professional. His work was neat; and of course FAST!!! If I could rate 10 stars I would!!!! Now I can sleep! Thank you again!!! MYRA SYKES

My daughter and I hired Realtá Remodeling in November 2015 to make repairs to the interior and exterior of our home as we are preparing to sell it and we are so satisfied and impressed with Osman and his team that we are now having second thoughts about selling our home! The remodeling of our home was done absolutely perfectly and on time, everything that was listed in the contract was finished and Osman even made some touches to part of the house that were not included in the contract, which we were grateful for. We had work done to the majority of our house: Master restroom/bedroom (the shower was demolished, a new shower with tile was built, damaged sheetrock was repaired along with plumbing issues in the shower drain, countertops were refinished, leaks under the sinks were fixed, a hole in the bedroom wall was patched, the walls and ceiling were primed and painted and new carpet trim was installed.) Guest restroom (the bathtub was refinished, cabinets were replaced and new wood was installed under the sink where there was a leak, rotten baseboards were replaced.) Living/office/family/laundry room (the walls in each room were primed and painted, ceiling texture was perfectly matched, the wood frame of the windows were sanded, caulked, primed and painted, doors were replaced and painted, holes were patched.) Kitchen (countertops were refinished, new sink was installed, the walls and ceiling were primed and painted.) Exterior (rotten wood was replaced, metal was replaced and welded, both garage doors were replaced, rotten backyard siding was fixed, painting and priming were also done). We are so happy with Realtá Remodeling and Osman that we have referred him to numerous friends and family, my daughter and I highly recommend Realtá Remodeling if you are looking for an honest contractor who works hard to make you happy and follows through with the contract. Thank you Realtá Remodeling, Osman and your staff for making our remodeling process an easy one!

Very responsive and helpful! Did a great job taking the top of the door frame off with no damage and replacing it. We had to cut it out to fit a couch through the door and he was very neat with the frame and the drywall above the frame. Excellent work - would recommend and use again!

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How do you replace a window?

You may want to replace a window if the glass has been damaged, you’re remodeling a room, or you want to upgrade your energy efficiency as well as your style by getting rid of those drafty single panes that are losing you money. When replacing a window, you can remove and replace the entire window down to the house frame. This method is best if the existing frame is damaged or deteriorating, but requires construction skills and know-how and will take more time and money. An easier and less expensive option is to install an insert replacement window into the existing frame. Insert replacements are only an option if your window frame is in good condition without rot or damage.

When replacing an entire window, first you’ll carefully remove the existing window with a pry bar and other tools. Next, you’ll make any repairs and adjustments needed to the existing frame or header and studs to ensure that the space is perfectly plumb and square, so the new window will sit perfectly within the space. Next, install the new window from the exterior, securing it into place. You’ll need to precisely wrap and insulate the window to ensure it doesn’t leak. Then, install the interior casing and exterior trim (as needed). If you prefer to hire a professional to install a window, consider replacing more than one window at a time, as the pro can work more efficiently.

How much is a custom window?

Choosing custom windows will increase your window installation cost but will provide you with exactly what you want. The average national cost for window installation is $2,650. Your custom window costs will vary based on several factors. The first factor is the type of frame you want. The four most common types of frames are vinyl, fiberglass, aluminum and wood. Wood is typically the most expensive option, followed by aluminum. The type of glass you select will also affect cost. There are single-, double- and triple-pane windows. Most double- and triple-pane windows have gas sealed between the panes that act as insulation. Windows typically cost more the more energy-efficient they are, though this efficiency can save you money on utility bills in the long run. The type of glass used can also affect cost. There are different grades of glass — high-performance glass, low-e coated glass, and more — which all provide you with better insulation. In addition, the number of unified inches (window height x window width) you need will affect cost. The cost of custom windows will also be affected by installation cost and whether any repair or construction work is required to properly fit the new window.

How much would it cost to put in new windows?

The cost to replace a window can vary depending on factors such as window size, type of glass, brand of window, necessary trim repair, and any construction work required for installation. Labor rates and cost to do business in your region will also affect the cost. The national average window installation cost is $2,650 per project. Here are some examples of average trim repair and window replacement costs:

    • Trim repair:
      • Line and case a window frame with an MDF product: $400.
      • Line and case a window frame with raw hemlock wood: $500.
    • Approximate cost to install five windows at one time: $3,000.
    • Approximate cost to install one double-hung, energy-efficient 3-foot by 4-foot window: $500-$550.
      • For the same window size (3-foot by 4-foot) from a different manufacturer made with a specialty fiberglass exterior and all-wood interior, the cost could go up to $1,500.
      • Pricing can go as high as $5,000 for a bay or bow window with specialty glass and framing.
        • These examples include removal and disposal of old materials and window.
