FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
It's not all that complicated; based on the student's age, maturity level, and budget, you can choose from the following: 30-minute lesson: $25, 45-minute lesson:$35, or 60-minute lesson: $40. The only additional cost would be for lesson books/sheet music and a travel fee if I travel to your home (based on mileage).
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I played the piano for church for years and often had church members asking me if I gave lessons. Teaching piano in my home was a way I could stay home at with my kids when they were small and still contribute to the family income. Now that my kids are all grown (and having kids of their own!), it's still something I enjoy doing!
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Make sure there is a good rapport between the teacher and student. If the student is fearful or nervous, he or she will not enjoy lessons. Also, help your child succeed by setting a consistent routine for practicing piano every day. It doesn't have to be hours of practice -- shorter, consistent, daily practice is often more useful than one long marathon practice session. The amount of time will depend on the age of the child.
