Introduction: I am a University of Houston/Houston Community College graduate in chemical engineering. During my sophomore year in college, I was in a car crash that left me in a coma for one month. Upon waking up, I was a completely different person, and had to re-learn everything. I have been able to recover and finished out my degree with a 4.0 at HCC.
I excel in math and science, but I am also able to do SAT test prep. Through re-learning all the subjects I needed to after my crash, I am very fresh on any subject I offer. I love working with kids of all ages, and strive to motivate them in an encouraging way. If my students are succeeding, then I am doing my job, and I always make sure that I do my job!
Through my chemical engineering course study and all the re-learning of subjects due to my coma, I am very confident in all subjects I offer. I have gained a mastery of many academic courses through learning the material twice. This has resulted in a strong personal confidence that I can teach anyone these subjects from multiple perspectives of learning. I have recent experience teaching my four-year old daughter reading and basic math skills, and this is how I have found that I love helping others learn. Tutoring is something that I have grown to be very passionate about, and I believe that I bring a very unique way to teaching because of my experiences. I was given a second chance at life the moment I woke up from my coma. Now I'm looking to give my students another chance at learning!
