What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Helping to decide on musical choices, listen to their concerns, be available for questions and advice.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I play in the Galveston Symphony which have excellent players that I some of which I hire. Master Classes, Music Seminars, Bridal Shows, etc.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your service? If so, please share the details here.
Some groups set their own prices. The wedding ensembles (as flute, violin, cello, etc.) are usually $200 per musician for 1-2 hours, if no travel fees involved.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
Just a progression of having a master's degree in performance and loving to play in ensembles with excellent master musicians.
What types of customers have you worked with?
The Festive Trio is our most popular wedding group . We also have the Liberty Quartet and Sterling Strings. These are excellent wedding ensembles, as well as the Celestial Trio (harp, flute, cello), Celestial Duo (flute and harp) and Harp alone.
We also play other events, whenever asked. Christmas parties, corporate parties, etc.....
Bands (all styles and including ethnic), are common for receptions and other events.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
We are "particularly" proud of all our events. I wouldn't say any are more important than any other.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
To contact Chamber Music Unlimited or Bands and More. We ask they go to our two websites and hear some of our wedding ensembles and view SOME of our many many listed bands. If they want to hire our musicians to download a contract from one of the websites and send in with 1/2 deposit.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
That is is more than just "showing up and playing " a "only one-hour" wedding. That it takes "time on this end" to make sure the clients music selections are correct, the paperwork in, discussions with client about their wedding, etc.
