D. M. says, "We had a wood deck installed in our backyard. Greg did an excellent job working with our budget and communicating. He was upfront about site conditions and honest recommendations regarding scope of the work. The finished deck looks good and took around 3 days to finish, we'll just have to see how well it holds up! He does stand behind his work!"See more

Justin H. says, "We had a master bathroom remodel and flooring update. While there were a few bumps in the road the team at Texas Greatest Remodelers gave us a truly spectacular renovation. 1. The people they brought in did phenomenal work. 2. The GC fixed most of the issues and were very responsive to making sure the work completed was high quality. 3. Cost was reasonable. 4. At the conclusion of the project, the owner and his son contacted us personally to see how the project went. We explained we were having a few minor issues with the GC about some minor work that was done during the project. They came out the next day and personally ensured the issues were resolved in a timely manner to our satisfaction. It was a nice touch to hear from them and even better that the they stood by their promise to truly give us a phenomenal renovation."See more

Sherri L. says, "Excellent full-service contractors who are knowledgeable, fair, and easy to work with. I had a fantastic experience with A-SPEC, as they were highly responsive, professional, and courteous. They are licensed and possess expertise in areas that other handymen or contractors might not, such as working with custom materials on older homes. They refreshed outdated tiles and fixtures in my vintage property, and I truly appreciated their skill and craftsmanship. Specializing in bathroom renovations, they upgraded everything to my satisfaction. I would gladly hire them again for future projects."See more

Martha Richards says, "We hired Dan and his team to do a full remodel of our master bathroom, which was still the original bathroom from 1983 when the house was built. The whole bathroom was slate blue, including the tub and toilet, and was covered in dated tile and leaking. Dan came to take a look and gave us a quote on the spot which he stuck to throughout the project. They gutted the bathroom and rebuilt it from the floor up including installing new masonry boards to make the floor even and stable. They rebuilt the shower, bathtub frame, retiled everything, installed new shower, whirlpool tub, new plumbing, new vanity and toilet. They also painted the walls, cabinets and doors for us for free after we decided we didnt want to do it ourselves mid project. Dan went tile shopping with me and helped me pick what would work best for our bathroom. Everyone in his crew was professional, fast and did excellent quality work. We were told it would take two weeks and it was as completely done within that time frame (actually it only took 12 days). The bathroom came out beautifully and we love it. Best part was Dan himself - hes awesome! Super friendly and fun to be around and he knows his craft. He was here everyday working with his crew. Definitely an expert and we learned a lot from him. Would highly recommend S-N-S Remodeling and plan to call him when we are ready for our next project."See more

FAQs

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

You can find general contractors in Houston by searching online. Read reviews from past customers and look for photos of completed projects. You may also find information about their credentials on their profiles, or you can try verifying a general contractor’s license by visiting the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation website.

Before you hire a contractor, ask for a cost estimate from several pros in Houston. Hiring a contractor to work on your home is an important decision, so feel free to take your time and compare quotes from a few pros.

There are several great options for waterproof basement flooring. For example, epoxy floors are waterproof but are thicker and sturdier than paint. Make sure the concrete substrate has been prepared for application.

Tile is a designer’s dream, giving you a moisture-resistant surface that’s infinitely customizable. Rubber sheets or tiles are also good waterproof options, particularly for playrooms, workout areas or laundry rooms.

Vinyl tiles and planks imitate wood or other materials very convincingly, provide moisture resistance and last a long time. And sheet vinyl is affordable and a great waterproofing solution for those in need of quick fixes.
