I wish I could've selected all the highlights because The Kitchen Finessers did an amazing job for my husband's birthday dinner!! They were an amazing team and their energy was awesome. I'm so happy that I went them. The food was impeccable and very flavorful!! I definitely have them locked in as my go to for any event or setting. For a bunch of fellas they came through with a main course consisting of some of the best wagyu they had ever had. It really was an amazing experience that they help create. Presentation was also very much on point!!

I had Onyi cater my child’s birthday party and the food was an absolute hit! Everyone was talking about the jollof rice and chicken days following the party. Will definitely have more entrees at the next event!

Allow me to start this review off by saying the food was delicious. However, I will provide my own series of events that occurred on my anniversary. Dinner was set for 6:30. We were told she would arrive at 5:15. At 4:55 she notified us that the whiskey bottle broke and she would now be arriving at 5:45. At 6:00 I reached out because we had not heard from her and we hired a photographer for a set time to capture the event whom arrived on time. Chef responded that she was 7 minutes away and appetizers would be ready at 6:45. She arrived upstairs around 6:15. My husband and I were really looking forward to the whole chef hat and chef attire we saw online, but to no avail. She was wearing a white shirt , black jeans and an apron. Nothing on her hair. At this time we are just trying to entertain the photographer who has been there an hour now sitting idle. Appetizers get served, we converse with chef and can tell she really cares about presentation and the taste of her food. We enjoyed the conversation she provided and the service once things got started. By this time it’s time to eat our dessert to which did not bake correctly and she said she couldn’t serve that and would get us a refund . The hotel we stayed at gifted us a cake and she ended up serving that to us. My husband and I discussed how the icing was different and we couldn’t quite pinpoint the flavor. Chef then took her finger and swiped some icing on the side of the cake, tasted it, then did that again. My husband is an extreme germaphobe and that just killed everything! We couldn’t believe that. Also, we did receive a nice personalized menu which we loved . So since notified us that she would refund us for the dessert we did not receive. I followed up a few days later to see the status and did not receive a response. I followed up again and got a text that said she would follow up about the refund after her dinner service. Still , no refund or update. So I can assume that I will not be getting a refund and will no longer be using this service. Please let me reiterate the food was great once it got served . If you have time to spare, she’s a great option but keep in mind our icing and attire experience. When you pay over $400 for a service it’s expected to be seamless and a true “experience”.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
*We charge a $150-250 Chef Fee for all events *We charge a travel fee based on your location for locations outside of the loop
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
1. We first take a look at your preferences on Thumbtack 2. One of the chefs will contact you on the phone for a menu consultation. Book your consultation 3. We send over a sample menu and invoice through Square (you have 24 hours after menu consultation to pay deposit to confirm date)
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We have all attended culinary school. Chef Onyi has work for multiple high volume restaurant brands like The Cheesecake Factory, McCormick & Schmicks, The Capitol Grille, The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, and Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse
