Jordan is a perfectionist in his work, The fence is perfectly level on all sides and looks great. Working in the rain my mudhole of a backyard, they kept the job going. It took longer than we all expected due to many extenuating circumstances but I would hire him again if needed.

I have a signed contract stating that the the entire job, including labor, materials, tree removal, hauling,gates, and 'the use of compressor, auger, etc.' would be $3,290. The quote was originally a little over $3,000 but when we sat down to go over the contract and sign it, I noticed that some things that we discussed were not mentioned. Twice, each with our laptops, Jordan had to revise the contract, and raise the price, because he had forgotten something. When a third thing came up, raising the price again, I told him that I was having reservations about giving him the job since his head didn't seem to be in the game. I told him that he couldn't do a bid/contract correctly, I couldn't trust him to do a fence correctly, but he assured me that he would do a good job. He said that I needed to provide a check for $1,905 a few days before the scheduled build so that it had time to clear the bank and he could arrange delivery of materials. ($1,600 material, $200 'material/equipment usage - auger, compressor,nail gun, concrete, and $105 for a wood access gate) He emailed me a few days later to say that the check had cleared and he was going to place the order at Lowe's and that I didn't have to worry about anything because he would arrange for the delivery to occur in the morning of the build start date and he would be there to receive it. This is what really happened, I texted Jordan in the morning to make sure they would be there on time. I had told him at the bid time that being there on time is a big deal with me, plus each family that bordered the fence had dogs that had to be managed. He told me that he was on his way. This was 8:00 Saturday morning. He showed up by himself after 4:00 in the evening. We had exchanged numerous text messages throughout the day, each with another excuse of why he wasn't there. Looking back, I am certain he didn't purchase the materials in time for delivery. He told me he fired his crew because they didn't show up, and he couldn't get the materials because his 'trailer guy' didn't answer his call. Oh, and the trailer guy had the auger, so he couldn't dig the holes....etc. etc. When he finally pulled a few out, with a standard post hole digger, one didn't have cement around it so he said it would take longer and that it wasn't his fault because no one told him that there wasn't cement. Also, since HE was late, he had to buy quick setting concrete which increased the price by $69. These are just the highlights. I asked for receipts repeatedly and I never got one. The next day, when I insisted, he went to Lowe's and brought only a printed quote dated that day, so he did not buy the materials when he said he did. The only mention of gate hardware was $23 I am leaving other things out, but suffice it to say that I was not happy. Jordan called me the 2nd morning and said that he was on his way but that he would not be staying on the project because he was under too much stress. I had already met his subcontractor and could tell that he was more professional and responsible so I told Jordan that I was going to pay them to finish the job. I also asked for receipts again, which I never got. As best as I can determine, Jordan made a $400 profit off of me that he didn't deserve. I had to pay the more money to the new crew to build my fence, and the entire project went over budget by $1,000. Half of that amount was because of another mistake that Jordan had made. When he made 3 mistakes on the bid, I told him to measure the fence again and make sure there were no errors. He said he didn't need to. Well, his measurements were off by 40 linear ft, so I had to fork out money to pay for that as well. This was a terrible experience and I regret choosing him for the project.
