She told me directly to my face that this case is “too much” directly after failing to get a bond that she said she was 80% sure he would get. Did not have our marriage license in court and stammered when speaking to the judge After talking to other lawyers saying they would not have given me that much false hope She told me I did not pay her to do an appeal but told my husband while still in court “we would get them in appeal” she was unprofessional and rude i did not go to law school so if I asked too many questions she would then talk very condescending not the same lawyer who I thought I hired my husband said he felt like we was losing and in a fit of rage talked to me about giving the case to someone else or even doing it pro bono because she felt offended by my husband and she would remove herself from the case she removed herself from the case then only gave me back half of my money instead of what she previously said long story short I wouldn’t recommend my worst enemy.
DARIA LAW FIRM PLLC's reply
Ms, Jasmine Resse review contained several false statements about my representation of her immigration case and her husbands removal proceedings. Ms. Jasmine retained my services to file an i130 petition on behalf of her husband after he was put in removal proceedings. I explained to her the difficulties of obtaining an approval given that the application will be submitted after he was put in removal proceedings. Even though Ms. Jasmine could not produce most of the documents I requested establishing cohabitation, my law firm timely filed her i130 petition and filed a bond motion on behalf of her husband . I didn't discuss the bond merits with Ms. Resse as she was not my client with regards to the bond hearing so I am unsure how she got the 80% likely hood of approval she is citing. No attorney under the present administration will made a statement about a judges ruling. In fact I emphatically told Ms. Jasmine as much that Judges were unpredictable but we will make a strong argument on her husbands behalf which we did. I did consult with her husband who didn't seem to understand the gravity of the offense he was being charged with. I explained his limited chances given the charge he has against him. At the bond hearing, because Ms. Jasmine was a testifying witness she was removed from the court room , again I am unsure of how she is stating what happened at a hearing that she was not present. I am a very good attorney and work extremely hard to defend my clients . I cannot discuss the nature of the case but to state the the judge denied her husbands bond motion because she believed he was a safety risk to the community at large. I withdrew as counsel on their case because her husband was s very rude and as much as I tried to accommodate him, his insults kept escalating. The final straw was when I received a phone call late at night from him demanding that I come visit him to pick up a mail to deliver to someone else, ( he insisted that my job included providing courier services to him ) , I politely declined and informed him that I was going to withdraw immediately as his counsel and hung up the phone. Ms. Jasmine called shortly after and kept pleading that I continue on the case I told her that I will refer her to another lawyer. Once She indicated that her husband would prefer a non Nigerian , I withdrew the offer to recommend another lawyer. Neither Ms. Jasmine nor her husband terminated my representation, I was the one that withdrew my services even though she pleaded for days that I reconsider. I refuse to be legal counsel to an individual who is rude and disrespectful and who refuses to understand the scope of my representation. Immigration practice is a passion for me because I understand the plight of immigrants being one myself . I have practiced immigration law for 10 years and have yet to loose a case . This is my record. I wish Ms. Jasmine and her husband best of luck in their pursuit of legal remedies for their immigration case but do not wish to be their counsel anymore. "It is unfortunate that because of her frustration she has resorted to filing this review riddled with false statements.
