I am a professional pianist, teacher/coach and consultant with over 35 years of experience in arts education and musical theatre. I work with people of all abilities, ages, and experience levels. I coach beginner students with a focus on learning to read notes and rhythms, and establishing proper hand technique. As we go, I like to introduce chord concepts. I play and teach all styles of music. Learning to read and understand music can be a magical experience as a student begins to “unlock” the printed notes waiting to be heard!
My strengths are in connecting with students to help them realize their musical goals. My sessions begin with learning about the students' interests and current skills, and we build from there- all while celebrating the joy of creating music.

Mitch is a fantastic piano teacher. He connects well with his students and provides detailed feedback for the parents. He is able to read the student's mood and turn it into a positive experience. He encourages my child to make up his own compositions and transcribes them on to paper. Mitch not only teaches my child how to read music and play the piano but also to thoroughly enjoy music for what it is.

Our son is working with Mr Mitch virtually on improving his skills with the piano. It is extremely gratifying to hear them enthusiastically working on songs which my son enjoys. Mr Mitch tailors his lessons to keep my son engaged and interested while further developing his piano playing ability.

Mitch is a wonderful piano teacher! He has a unique ability to both grow the student's knowledge of piano playing (music notes, style, technique) as well as their love of music in general. My son has been a student for several years, has created several of his own original pieces, and looks forward to his lessons each week!

Switched to lessons with Mitch during SIP. He is engaging, and has made Zoom lessons interesting, lively and more fun for the kids than in-person lessons ever were. He's also identifying and addressing gaps in technique and theory, along the way.
