Adrian I. says, "It was very important for me to work with a true professional, and Alex having a PhD in linguistics and language education made my decision immediate. I scheduled a consultation without hesitation. The $90 was absolutely worth it to understand the deeper background of linguistics. I had never realized that this type of teaching even existed. Coming from a traditional school system, I learned English mainly through vocabulary and grammar. However, Alex showed me that the phonological structure of a language is just as important as those elements. That was the missing piece for me. Working with Professor Alex made me realize how many things were missing in my speaking. Now, I truly feel integrated. I feel like I belong. I feel confident and comfortable with my English. I don’t just speak—I communicate. I understand humor. I’ve grown. The main reason I took this course was because, in the past, I always felt like I didn’t fully belong when speaking. Even though I had an advanced level, something always felt incomplete in the way I expressed myself and understood the language. Alex completely filled that gap. He gave me something I didn’t even know I was missing. Now I feel the language. I feel free when I communicate. I don’t worry about mistakes or pronunciation anymore. I just speak—and that brings me a sense of comfort and confidence. It feels natural, like this is truly part of my reality now. Switching between languages happens automatically and effortlessly. Spanish is my native language, but now English feels just as real to me. Alex brought me that missing piece, and it has made a complete difference. I highly recommend Alex to anyone who wants to make a real difference in their speaking and truly integrate into American culture—not just by being present here, but by being able to speak, enjoy, travel, work, and simply live your life without constant struggle. He can make that happen for you. Thank you so very much."See more

Cindy M. says, "Words are powerless to express my gratitude for Priscilla and her work with my granddaughter. "A" is eight years old and has been diagnosed with ADHD. She is now starting her third 10-week term with Priscilla. The curriculum is providing her with the skills she needs to be not only a successful public speaker but also a confident, resilient life-long learner. She started these sessions with a serious lack of self-confidence. This was manifesting in her limited participation in class as well as a fear to try new things at school. Last year, she read so quietly when it came to oral reading that her teacher was unsure of her abilities. This led to "A's" participation in a reading class to provide extra support. I really believe Priscilla's ability to connect with "A" and create a tutoring relationship has played a major part in the third grader she has become. The milestones have been many. First, she readily participates in class--raising her hand to answer and ask questions. Secondly, she is developing so much more confidence in her reading ability and public speaking. In fact, she was visiting a fifth grade class recently and volunteered to take part in their Reader's Theater production during that visit. With no practice, in front of the entire class, she plunged right in. She is also participating in the school's Odyssey of the Mind program. She has volunteered for a speaking part in her team's project. Priscilla has excellent organizational skills. At the same time, she is flexible with the use of class time. She adjusts classwork seamlessly to accommodate "A's" needs and interests. Her kindness, empathy and patience have fostered much trust between these two. It feels so good to have another adult in "A's" life who cares and nurtures her in every way at every session. I highly recommend this curriculum and Priscilla as the nurturing guide to take your child through these lessons. I think this program provides an excellent opportunity for children to learn, grow academically and become excited, knowledgeable, and confident public speakers and life-long learners. I am so grateful we found this program and Priscilla!"See more

Jonathan M. says, "We found Carol to tutor our son in writing over the summer. He was a rising 5th grader. We were impressed with the progress our son had made with his writing after working with Carol over the summer. He is now thinking about what he is writing and will go back to revise what he had written. The significant change is from rushing through writing assignments to being more thoughtful about what he is writing and the technical construction of the sentences. At the end of the summer we decided to continue with Carol weekly throughout the school year as we were impressed with the progress our son has made. Carol started initially with simple writing assignments and is working her way to longer essays that are tailored to our son’s interests. I didn’t think he would progress to longer assignments from Carol this quickly. I believe this is a significant benefit of having a writing tutor instead of solely relying on public education. I also see the difference in the initial writing assignments he has done in class now that school has resumed versus what he had written at the end of the previous year. As a parent I am glad that we can access great tutors such as Carol online and we are not just dependent on what is available locally."See more
