About
Clients are making an investment in their lives and entrusting me with that guidance. The vast majority of people I work with stay with me for multiple years. I believe it is because I bring accountability with empathy. My goal as a fitness trainer is to help people discover that by prioritizing themselves, all of life's other priorities become less daunting. I transformed my own life by incorporating a fitness lifestyle. My natural state of being is sitting, procrastinating, eating, and zoning out. Through small, disciplined changes over time, that state can become something much more fulfilling.

I recently began training with Adam. He is very professional yet friendly and approachable. He knows just how far to push me. The fact that he understands my conditions (MS and fibromyalgia) and knew exactly what areas to work on is just an added bonus. As far as his rate, he's worth it no matter what his rate is! Do yourself a big favor. If you get the chance to work with him--do it!

Adam is beyond professional and has been very instrumental in helping me get back in shape. As a former athlete, I have been working out on my own trying to get back to my previous fitness level. I was pushing too hard on former injuries and not pushing hard enough in other areas. He has helped correct that and is guiding me into becoming a healthier, stronger me.

UPDATED Review: It's been a while in the making this update. I have continued working out with Adam all these years, except for the past year, since I had Carpal Tunnel surgery on both hands. This situation put a dent in my workout routine, since I had to be 6-8 months without weight lifting, punching or Yoga. I gained a little weight by eating and it needs to come down. Now when I am finally able to workout again, C19 hit all of us. This meant more eating and gained weight by sitting around doing nothing. To my surprise Adam is also doing Online training. It works just as well, plus for those afraid of C19, the internet is plenty safe for social distancing. Another added benefit is, sometimes an in person workout time is not available, but it is possible through Zoom, Whats-App, Face-time, etc. Give it a try and don't let this C19 stop your progress.
ORIGINAL Review: I have had few personaltrainers in my quest to reach my goals in fitness for the past 3 years. So, this is not a new year resolution for me. Recently, my TWO!!!! different personaltrainers have become a little hard to establish a routine. My overall progress in strength, cardio and flexibility have stalled. Having a bad lower doesn't help, but with a KNOWLEDGEABLE professional trainer, the sky is the limit. Enter here Adam Smith. He is what I was lacking to reach the next level. Adam was quick to communicate, easy to schedule and was on time. Today after my first session, I can tell I finally got a Professional Trainer, that knows his trade. The session was ALL fun, full of new challenges and most important safe to my lower back. The Kickboxing part was an eye opening fun experience. Having a Karate background, I felt back at home. Can't wait for the next session in 3 days. I guess that the saying: "Can't teach an old dog new tricks", doesn't apply to me. At 55 years young, I am ready to learn and kick some serious........ ;-) If you are stuck in your fitness journey or are looking for a lifestyle change, don't waste time and call Adam. I already did the research for you all. You welcome. LOL

I was in search of a trainer to help with the discipline of working out. I am extremely pleased with my experience. We began with an evaluation that included discussion about exercises that I dreaded. We then worked together on a plan that would be manageable for me. Now at about 9 weeks into the program I am still very pleased with my trainer. He is professional and personable and has helped me to do things (push-ups, weight lifting, kick boxing) that I have never done before. He is very supportive and flexible in helping me to achieve my goals. Work outs are challenging but we have fun. I can honestly say that I enjoy exercise and it's because of what I learned from Adam and Simple Basic Fitness. I would, and have, recommend this service to anyone who is looking to get in shape in a way that's tailored to your needs and abilities.

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
It varies depending on distance, length of session, and session frequency. I work to keep my prices affordable because I try to develop long term client relationships.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Ordinarily I will spend a few minutes asking questions about a client's specific goals, exercise history, etc. Then I will take them through a basic movement evaluation to get an idea of the fitness intensity that the client will be able to tolerate. After that I'll usually take them through some fundamental kickboxing movement so that they can have a little fun.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Every couple of years I will take a subset credential course. Beyond my Certified Personal Trainer certificate, I am a Mixed Martial Arts Conditioning Specialist, and a Fitness Nutrition Specialist. But I am always researching things whether it gives me a piece of paper or not.
