I have a 60-foot, 40-year-old Live Oak that was long overdue for a major trimming. Large, heavy branches were hanging over both my roof and my neighbor’s—creating a serious safety and insurance concern. Additionally, some branches were too low over the sidewalk and street, which was a code compliance issue.
After reaching out to the owner, Cesar, he arrived the very next workday in a clearly marked company vehicle. He inspected the tree and assured me it was a strong, healthy specimen that could be restored to its natural beauty. Most importantly, he provided a very competitive estimate.
The following day, a large, fully insured crew of about nine experienced professionals arrived right on time in a late-model work truck. The team was led by George, a highly capable and respectful crew chief who spoke fluent English. They came fully equipped with all the tools necessary to complete the job efficiently and safely. Impressively, they worked without causing any damage to my wife’s extensive landscaping or to the neighbor’s property.
Cleanup was meticulous. Once the job was complete, I inspected the tree and was thoroughly impressed. The crew had removed roughly one-third to one-half of the small and medium branches, creating an even, symmetrical shape. The central structure of the tree, with its flaring minor trunks, now resembles a majestic bouquet. All the unsightly vertical "suckers" from the center were eliminated. The tree looks beautiful and revitalized.
One major reason I chose Best Tree Service was their use of a commercial-grade chipper—an expensive, heavy-duty piece of equipment towed behind a large truck. The chipper processes all removed branches into wood chips, which are then hauled away for proper disposal. This prevents piles of debris from sitting curbside for days or even weeks, especially important after storms when city pickup is delayed. Leaving bulky branches out front not only looks terrible but also poses a liability risk if someone trips or gets injured on your property.
Another standout aspect of Cesar’s operation is safety. He ensures no crew member works high in the tree without a harness, significantly reducing the risk of falls and insurance claims. This kind of attention to safety reflects a smart and responsible owner.
Before hiring any contractor, I always ask key questions: Can you show proof of insurance? Do you use safety harnesses? Do you own a chipper? If the answer to any of these is "no" or vague, I don’t even give them my address, let alone let them bid.

The Best Tree came out over a two day period and trimmed a large oak, as well as two large hollie trees/bushes. They coordinated their arrivals each day and were able to pick up and remove any of the debris from the trimmings.
The price was reasonable as well based on the size of trees that were trimmed.

From the estimate to completion, I couldn’t have dreamed a better experience. They were kind, professional and efficient. Other than the trees being gone, I never would have known they had been there. I watched them safely trim and remove trees as well as clean up- they raked the area, used the blower and cleaned up all the trash. I can’t recommend them highly enough!!
