I had an amazing experience working with the Synapse on my website. I run a local soccer organization and Synapse's team helped me to have a useful and interactive website, where managers of the teams are able to have their season's schedule, photos, leading board, and rosters. I had great feedback from everyone that used the website! Thank you Synapse!

I'm blown away... I never thought using a service like this would yield a PREMIUM vendor services company. Optimum, specifically Tina, has been AWESOME to work with. I was looking for, as I thought I needed, a website design company... what I ended up with was a true brand management and concept development organization. Timely response to any communication, professional and complete proposal. I believe this is because they took the necessary time to "GET IT" with regard to my concept and associated needs. I would Definitely recommend OptimumCS to anyone looking to do it once and get it right.

We are a web development firm ourselves. Our dev fell ill and we had a project due date coming up. We looked everywhere for a place to outsource the work to including all of the freelance websites. Needless to say we were burned by foreign freelancers and lost a good deal of money. We contacted ArmaVita in an attempt to complete the project on time. They worked overtime to get the website and custom features up and running for our client. We WILL be working with them in the future!

I received an email from them to leave a review.. Here it is. I was in need of a custom solution for my business. A way to manage inventory of some unusual items that other POS and financial software couldn't handle appropriately. I contacted them after finding a Craigslist ad they had made and requested a quote. I explained what I needed and they told me that they could do it and even have it integrate with QuickBooks which is my financial software. That was great for me. In the end they created a web portal where my employees can log in, add, track, and modify inventory easily and I could sync it with QuickBooks so my accounts all balanced. It took them about 4 weeks to have a usable interface and we are now working together to squish any bugs I find. I spent more than what I expected to but it's been well worth it for my business. From what I understand they are a relatively new company with only two actual employees. Don't let that stop you from hiring them though, they did a great job and communication was excellent even though we did everything remotely.

I give Texan Website Developers and their team a 5 star rating and thumbs up for a terrific job they did on my web project. Other companies I went to didn't grasp my concept and were unable to do what I thought was a fairly straight forward script code writing part of the development. I realize that developers have different programming languages that they write code in, and I was willing to allow the developers to make that choice on their own. Even at that level, other firms were unable to grasp the concept and make the online software do what is was conceived to do. However, when I went with Kevin Shick at Texan Website Developers, he understood my company goals along with the concept. I knew he understood because he produced a project summary document that nailed it. Him and his team that were assigned to my project asked the right questions, and posted messages that were all in sync with the concept that I have been trying to explain to other development firms for over a year. Now I am using this product as a main part of my business model. It has increased productivity with the efficient tasks that it performs. I was also able to easily train my staff on the use of this new software platform, and it has become a daily part of our business operations. I cant say enough about how pleased I am with the results that Texan Website Developers has produced for me.

      Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How do I find a good app developer?

A good app developer can help you if your company wants to build a new mobile app for customers but you don’t have an IT or development team on staff. First, decide whether you want an app made for the iPhone or Android phones or both, then start your search by finding an app developer with expertise in your chosen platform. Ask for samples of their work, such as code samples, that can be tested on open source repository sites like GitLab and GitHub. You can also interview firms that specialize in mobile app development for small companies or startups; they should be able to offer examples of different types of apps they’ve built, and are likely to have expertise in a range of technologies and platforms. Before you sign a contract, make sure to ask prospective app developers these questions:

      • What other apps have you developed? Make sure the apps in their portfolio reflect the type of work you want to have done for your company. It’s especially helpful if they understand your industry.
      • What technology and development services do you offer? Ideally, an app developer will conduct a business analysis, develop the app, perform quality testing and make sure the launch is successful.

Will you maintain the app after it’s launched? Releasing an app is only the beginning. You’ll need someone to maintain it too, releasing updates and fixing bugs.

      Who builds apps?

Apps are usually built by software developers who specialize in mobile software. They may be experts in just one mobile software development language or know several, and may have expertise in front-end or back-end web development. No matter what kind of phone or tablet you carry, there are hundreds of apps for it — and new ones seem to be added to the app stores every day. Before you hire an app developer, it’s important to have specific goals for your app and a clear idea of its purpose. When your company is ready to build an app, you can hire a freelance app developer or work with an app development company that can also support the app after it’s launched. It’s important to know whether you’ll need the developer to provide ongoing maintenance and support or if your internal IT team can maintain it after its launch.

How much does it cost to hire an app developer?

Software development is a serious investment for any company, costing thousands of dollars for even basic apps. It’s tough to estimate costs because there are so many variables to each project: user requirements, feature set, complexity, size, etc. Mobile apps can cost from $20,000 to more than $100,000, depending on what you need the app to do. The average national cost of an app developer is $237.50 per hour, but prices vary widely depending on location, type of app, features, and much, much more.

To get a sense of what hiring an app developer might cost, decide first what kind of software you need. In general, app developers charge hourly fees based on the language they’ll use to code the software. Freelancers cost less than large software development firms, typically charging an average of:

      • Basic C development: $75-$150 per hour.
      • Front-end web development: $50-$75 per hour.
      • Back-end web development: $75-$150 per hour.
      • API development: $75-$150 per hour.
      • Desktop app development: $30-$100 per hour.
      • Mobile app development: $30-$150 per hour.

Larger software vendors charge much more, often as much as $300 to $400 per hour.
