TLDR (short version of this review): If you are considering Katherine's services, DO IT. I'm blown away. After just 1 session, i got relief from pains in both muscles and joints that have been in pain for years. Professional. Patient. Respectful. Informative. Skilled. I'm still amazed by how my body feels, both moving and at rest. She truly is a healer and I am grateful for her skill. Also dog friendly. Long version: I came to Katherine with pain I didn't know if I would ever get rid of. I was desperate for pain relief, tension relief. My joints were all popping over and over and I couldn't understand why. i had been to chiropractors and primary care doctors with no real results. I didn't know what to expect, as I have only had one other massage ever in my life and it was nice but not much pressure, so not a lot of actual pain relief. Katherine was immediately ready to work with me to tackle my problem areas, all the while teaching me about my body and explaining pains that I thought didn't have much of a real explanation other than ~stress~. She taught me about how my muscles compensate for my posture and activities, and what points of pain are causes by what, and even how massage techniques worked to alleviate those pains. Her work on my trigger points (which she very kindly and patiently explained to me) helped IMMENSELY. I was expecting some kind of release, like popping a knuckle, but it was just a wonderful melting away of the pain as she worked. She talked me through the whole process as she did it. I am not a touchy person in general, and was very tender in places, and unsure at first. Once she released that first trigger point, and I felt that difference... I was a full believer in her methods. When I stood up, the very way I stood and held myself felt better. I could stretch muscles that were locked up for so long I had forgotten that they even could stretch. My joints felt like they had less pressure on them. My mobility increased and feels easier. As a person with mental health and stress struggles, feeling those years of tension leave your body is a feeling like no other. I am almost mad I didn't find her earlier! I could have never predicted this improvement in one 60 minute session. Guys. This is more than just relaxation or luxury. This is pain relief. This is health and wellness. This is healing. If you aren't getting relief need out of chiropractors, stretches, yoga, foam rollers, and/or Tylenol... Message her. Reach out and give her a chance to renew and restore those muscles. It will be worth it. She's also just a great person to be around. She is funny, relatable, patient, and trustworthy. She really is somebody who wants to help heal you and your body, and make you feel safe and relaxed. Also- all you dog people out there. She was so sweet with my dog, who loved her (and I trust that dogs judgement!) Even when my brat of a dog came and jumped up trying to lick the oil she was using, she was super patient, and laughed it off. My dog was legitimately sad when she left. If you're worried about a home massage therapist because of a dog- as long as that dog is cool, she's cool.
