Jameson and his associate, were very professional they came and assessed our rodent problem, on the initial free quote visit. They both answered all our questions and took us step by step through what was needed, and what their service provided... Based on their thoroughness on the matter, we hired them on the spot... They filled all holes and gaps with Steele wool and caulked along the windows, they even sealed and sanitized our attic leaving the house smelling orangey fresh!... ;) Jamerson assured us if we had anymore problems, to call him and he would come by at no cost to us, he even left me extra glue traps!... :) We are beyond HAPPY with our Experience and the Professionalism of BUG ME NOT Exterminators, and look forward to any future dealings we may have with them. Many Thank Yous to Jamerson & his Associates... The Doroffs.

My grandmother had bedbugs in her little 1 bedroom house and was charged >$1200. My parents had bedbugs and the exterminators they used has to come back about every 2 weeks for 3-4 months. Eco-guard got the job done in our 2300 sq ft house in one shot and less than half of what my grandmother paid! I would deforest recommend them! We are 7 months post-treatment and NO signs of them! And they were BAD!

Jared is quick to respond, efficient, and more than professional. My wife and I bought a new home that has been neglected for a long time so we knew going in we had much to do. Immediately after moving in we found a large ant infestation and had a guy come out to spray. The problem persisted for several months and he continued to just come and spray with no success. Six to eight months later we discovered we had a squirrel problem and I immediately set out to find someone more knowledgeable than the previous exterminator. Long story short we have not heard any more noise from the squirrels in the attic and we have already seen an extreme improvement in the ant problem from the short period of time that he came out. If you're looking for pest control / extermination you've found it. Thanks Jared!

Jeremy was terrific. He called en route to let me know when he'd be at our house, and once he got here he was extremely nice and very professional. He even took care to make sure our pets were put up safely and wore shoe covers to keep the house clean. He was very patient with me and my spider paranoia and he found a carpenter ant infestation that we had no idea about! He was very reasonably priced and didn't show up with a list of add-one and scare tactics to get us to spend more. See you in 3 months Jeremy!

I wanted to wait a bit before reviewing so that I could comment on the effectiveness of the service as well. Jim was out last week to treat my house. I had a lot of ants and spiders. There was a thunderstorm and a lot of rain (day after Memorial Day 2015) on the day we had scheduled, so Jim called me and explained that he'd still come out, but treatment would be less effective. I was so impressed by this - he could have come and done it anyway but he actually appeared to care that the job was done properly. When he did arrive on the (much drier) day we had rescheduled, he was right on time and had helpers. I have dogs and cats and he explained to me how the interior treatment worked on the bugs and would not affect humans or pets. He was very thorough and explained to me what effects I would see, and what I should do if/when I did see a straggler. He was very friendly, very polite, and answered any and all questions that I had. It has been a week since the treatment and the insect population and around my home has very significantly decreased. I no longer see ants indoors or out, and the only other thing I've seen is mosquitos and flies (not something we treated for). I have already recommended Jim to a friend and will happily do so again and again.

NO PEST ZONE My husband and I had the unfortunate task of ridding our new construction home of all size crickets and other critters. Before our home was built, the area consisted of trees and fields. After checking out the reviews (and getting a quick callback from Jason at No Pest Zone), we decided to give them a shot. We were pleasantly surprised that the owner, Jason, was the one we explained our issues to via phone and he was also the one who did our walk through the very next day. Jason explained each part of the treatment process in detail, always making sure we understood what was happening. He was clear in his pre-treatment directions. We were also giving great recommendations to keep our new home free of ALL pest. I’m happy to say that weeks later, we're still bug free. If you're looking for reliability and consistency I can't recommend No Pest Zone enough!! They were fair in their fees and were dedicated to helping us rid the pest problem entirely.

James was awesome! He worked hard on our home for a couple of hours and his pricing was excellent. I’ve never even considered regular pest control before him! Previous exterminators were in and out in 20-30 mins and he was here 4 times as long. He was knowledgeable and gave us some great tips for controlling pests ourselves. Professional, no pushy sales tactics. I won’t be calling anyone else in the future!

Jared was fantastic to work with. He was very thorough in tackling my carpenter ant infestation, and did such a thorough job on the rest of the house that I decided to hire him to provide quarterly maintenance service. I will strongly recommend him to anyone looking for an exterminator.

My experience with Allegiance was remarkable. Erik responded quickly to my call and took care of my problem the next day. I had rodents in my attic and he had all the tools and equipment to handle the problem fast. He seemed very knowledgeable in the field and was also to locate a potential termite problem. He was able to treat that too before any major damage occurred. I would definitely use Allegiance services again and recommend to anyone with a pest, termite or bug problem.

Also, with termites and a continued warranty, and regular extermination. We couldn’t be more pleased with the company. Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What do pest control companies do?

Pest control companies handle all aspects of bug, rodent and animal extermination or removal. Pest control professionals visit your home or office to identify the type of pest that is troubling you and offer various treatment plans — complete with clearly outlined costs. Once you and the pest control company have a signed agreement, the pro will begin treatment. Pest treatment can range from the use of spray pesticides and gel bait to live and/or kill traps. There are a wide range of types of pesticides, many of them nontoxic for humans and other small animals. This means you may be able to have your home treated for pests without harming nearby wildlife or your dog and cat. The pest control pro will carry out the treatment plan and, depending on the service agreement, provide follow-up such as emptying traps, inspecting access points, or reapplying pesticide spray if the pests return. Costs will vary based on the type of pest you are having removed and the extent of the infestation. The average national pest control price range is $80-$130. From a minor bedbug event to an entire home termite infestation, pest control companies have got you covered.

How much does it cost to treat a house for termites?

Termites are not only creepy-crawly, they can literally eat your house out from underneath you. Termites feed on damp and dry wood and can chomp through your house at an alarming rate. The national average pest control cost for termite extermination is $240-$400. Treatment costs can be higher for an extensive infestation. Here are some examples of average pest control costs for termites:

    • Liquid treatment of subterranean termites: $3-$4 per linear foot.
      • For $75 per year, a company may offer a maintenance plan that provides inspection of the property and renewal of the warranty.
    • Liquid treatment of subterranean termites: approximately $400 for a 2,000-square-foot home at $3-$5 per linear foot.
      • The price is higher for additional work such as foaming and drilling inside of concrete slabs.
    • Fumigation treatment of drywood termites: $1,200-$1,500 for a 30,000- to 35,000-cubic-foot home
      • Fumigation is measured in cubic feet because it fills the airspace of the home and infiltrates the wood that the termites may be colonizing. The cost of fumigation is affected by the number of levels in the home as well as the square footage.

How much does it cost to get rid of cockroaches?

Cockroaches are not only ugly, they are difficult to get rid of. Quick and resilient, they can be hard to get rid of without professional help once they have inhabited a house. Nationally, the average range for cockroach pest control cost is $80-$130. Extermination professionals typically provide a free estimate to determine the extent of the infestation. They’ll check for the main sources of the bugs, identify bug access and entry points into your home, and determine the best method for elimination. There are a variety of cockroach extermination tools including gel baits and traps, pesticide foggers, desiccants (which dry out the cockroaches), neurotoxins, and other pesticides. Pest control costs can also cover preventive measures like regular spraying and trap maintenance. Some regions of the country are much more prone to cockroach problems than others, so pest control costs may need to be part of your quarterly budget. Cockroaches love dark, humid, and warm areas and water sources, so place traps near your washer and dryer and under your sinks.

How much does it cost to remove a mouse?

If you have a mouse in your house you’re probably quickly researching pest control costs. Mice, although tiny, can transmit diseases and also get into your food and leave unsanitary droppings around your home. If you have seen one mouse in your house, it’s likely that more have taken up residence in your crawl space, attic or basement. The national average pest control cost is $150-$200. Costs can vary depending on whether you need to get rid of a population of living mice or just dispose of a dead mouse (or full traps), how extensive the mouse population is, and where you live in the country. Here are some examples of average pest control cost for removing a mouse:

    • $150 for initial trap setup and inspection (and sealing of entry holes).
      • $50 for rodent removal service calls and emptying of traps. This visit can also include identifying and sealing entry points that were not sealed on the first visit.
    • Rodent extermination: $110-$350, depending on how heavy the rodent population is, whether the mouse infestation poses health risks, how many entrances exist and how many rodent bait stations are needed.

How much does it cost to get a pest inspection?

In general there is no cost for a pest inspection. Exterminators typically provide a free property or building inspection and then provide you with a written estimate outlining the necessary treatment and cost. The home visit allows the exterminator to assess the problem and let you know what your pest control cost will be if you contract with their services. You may need a termite inspection for real estate purposes. This will be a verified inspection showing that the house in question is termite-free (often done before a sale). The inspection may cost a flat rate, such as $125-$150, depending on house size.

It’s hard to predict pest control costs sight unseen due to the variety of factors that go into pest treatment. For example, a bedbug problem for one customer may be confined to one room and be easy to access and treat in one visit if the room is clear of clutter and the bedbugs have been caught early. In another home, a bedbug problem may also be confined to one room, but there’s a great deal of clutter, providing more hiding places for the bugs and requiring more spray and labor for the exterminator, as well as many pieces of large furniture in the room that need to sprayed. Depending on the maturity of the infestation, a bedbug problem may require multiple visits to entirely eliminate. This is why many companies provide a free inspection to determine pest control costs and provide you the most accurate quote possible.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
