Movement 2 Breathing 3. Personal ethics 4. Social ethics 5. Sense withdrawal (detachment) 6. Meditation 7. Maintaining meditation 8. Contentment Ashta Yoga's approach to teaching is traditional. The students and teachers work together in such a way that the student comes to learn how to practice the 8 limbs in daily life. The goal is for the teacher to be less and less needed. The student will able to cultivate contentment anytime and anywhere with the breath, body and mind only. The Ashtanga practice coupled with Aryurveda (ancient science of health) and sacred texts may be used as a spiritual practice, a yoga class, spiritual healing, life coaching and more. Ashta Yoga does not outsource. I am the only teacher. I was taught under a sacred linage and studied and lived in India as well. Sarah is amazing! She is helping me understand how my body moves and holds stress, while teaching me the philosophical principles of healing, meditation and movement. I’ve never had a workout like this where my body is healing and so is my mind. I’m grateful to her for her patience, knowledge, kindness and enthusiasm-without judgement. I had such an amazing time — from the moment I walked in, the energy was calm, welcoming, and so uplifting. The instructor made everything feel effortless, even for someone who hasn’t practiced in a while. The flow was peaceful but powerful, and I left feeling lighter, refreshed, and so connected in my mind and body. It was exactly what I needed. I can’t recommend this instructor enough — truly a beautiful experience that I’ll be coming back to again and again.
