I reached out to three different companies for quotes, and Mitchell from Chumley was by far the most professional, knowledgeable, and honest of them all.From the beginning, he stood out. He arrived exactly on time, which is rare in my experience, and treated the issue with a level of care and curiosity I didnt see from the others. The root cause of the problem was clear a gutter on the opposite side of the house had caused a washout under the wall, leading to the collapse. Other contractors were quick to stop there and jump to quoting a repair. Mitchell didnt.Instead, his experience told him there might be more going on, and he took the time to investigate further. He noticed there was no concrete footing under the wall and asked if he could look deeper. With my permission, he went outside, dug into the yard, and confirmed that the wall in question wasnt load-bearing at all. It was more cosmetic and primarily there to seal off the crawl space from pests and the elements.That level of effort, just to make sure nothing important was being overlooked, was what really earned my trust. He could have just quoted a repair and moved on, but instead he made sure the fix being considered was actually necessary. He helped me understand the situation fully and made it clear that I didnt need to rush into an expensive repair that wouldnt have solved anything.He also looked at my sump pump which another contractor said needed replacement and reassured me that it was functioning just fine. No scare tactics, no upsells, just professional and honest input that gave me real peace of mind.If youre dealing with a crawl space or foundation issue, I highly recommend having Mitchell from Chumley take a look before you make any decisions.
