The business owner, Corey arrived on time, took time to explain the process and I was left with very clean carpets that were dry within a hour. Other carpet cleaning companies cannot compete. It was a very satisfying experience. I will definitely use them again.

We received a few different quotes from carpet cleaning companies and decided to choose Carpet Zen. They were very professional and did a great job. They provided honest feedback that the carpet needed to be replaced in a certain area and came back to clean that area a second time. We will definitely use them again as well as recommend Carpet Zen to others.

Sam is great, and we wholeheartedly recommend him for any carpet/rug cleaning services. Sam was punctual and responsive from the get go. His pricing was very competitive. He arrived and cleaned all our carpeted areas and our main rug in approximately two hours. They look good as new now. Super nice guy who is running his own local small business. We will be repeat customers for sure!!!

Jeremy's work is first class - he was a professional throughout, provided very clear instructions in a pre-appointment call to help us prep for the carpet and tile cleaning and then during the cleaning appointment he was helpful beyond our expectations (he ended up helping move a few items that really weren't his responsibility to move!). Jeremy's equipment was extremely powerful too and as a result he was able to remove stains that we never thought would be possible to get out of both the tile and the carpet. The overall process and work quality were excellent and very much appreciated.

I would have given you a five star but your professional staff was unable to shampoo/wash a small area on a throw rug in my kitchen. They did wonders on my freezer and refrigerators. The room I worried about was solved almost perfectly and it was what I was worried about.

Chris and his sidekick were on time. Quick, and cleaned up after the work, even though we are in the middle of moving and the house was a wreck! They really are the Good Guys! Gave me quotes on additional work for future projects while he was there.

I have had these guys come out to clean my carpets for 2 years . I love the care and quality that is taken with my home. When asked to do any of the rugs, without question they took them cleaned them and placed them back. I just had a baby and as a gift this company came out as a loyal customers and cleaned our carpets for us for free. I could never say thank you enough for all the great work they have done. Always on time and always looks great after.

Ken did an outstanding job on my home carpet and floors. He was professional and let us know how much it would cost before he started the job. Nothing worse than getting told at the end of the job that there were extra fee's.. I had an old dog who was sick and the carpets looked really bad, Ken took his time and did a really good job. I know that in the future Living Stone Floor Care will always have my business.

Great service! Had the August Special, so definitively the best value on the market. My carpet looked sooooo much better after they came, and there were no more weird smells in the house (and we tryed everything else previously). The steam clean helped a lot with allergies too. When moving in a new home, there is so much stuff to do... the previous tenants neglected the house and Genesis Floor Care made such a difference. Derrick was very nice also. I definitively recommend their services!

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

Who cleans area rugs?

Like your carpets, area rugs should ideally be cleaned at least once a year to remove dust and dirt and help them last longer. In general, carpet cleaning professionals also clean area rugs. Some rug cleaners bring their cleaning equipment to your home, while others remove your area rugs and clean them at their facilities. Either way, the rug should be cleaned with the solution most appropriate to its specific fabric and construction. It should also be completely dry before you return it to the floor.

How often should carpets be steam cleaned?

Dirty carpets can be unhealthy for the people living in the home, particularly those who have allergies, so it’s important to have them cleaned regularly; simply vacuuming once or twice a week isn’t enough. Carpet cleaning should be done by a professional carpet cleaning service at least once a year to remove grime and help extend the life of your carpet. Most carpet manufacturers recommend professional steam cleaning, which penetrates deep into the carpet fibers and lifts out both dirt and the pollutants that get tracked inside. Steam cleaning also removes most of the moisture, so carpets dry quickly enough for homeowners to resume using them the same day. Between professional carpet cleanings, your carpet may need an emergency spot cleaning. Pet accidents, food or drink spills, and more can often be effectively cleaned with some water and a drop of white vinegar, although many cleaners will also make house calls for smaller spills and hard-to-clean spots like wine or grease stains.

How much does it cost to clean a rug?

Area rugs are typically found in high-traffic areas of the home, like hallways and entryways, so they collect more dirt and stains than simple vacuuming can handle. Similar to carpet cleaning, professionals can come to your home to deep-clean your area rugs. The national average cost for rug cleaning ranges from $80 to $120, but may be higher or lower depending on the rug’s size and fiber type. Rug cleaners generally charge by the square foot; for example, a standard 8-foot by 10-foot rug costs an average of $100 to clean. Natural fiber rugs, such as wool or silk, are usually more expensive to have cleaned than synthetic rugs. A carpeting cleaning company may charge on average $1.50 per square foot to clean a synthetic rug, $2 per square foot for a wool rug, and $3 per square foot for a silk rug. Some delicate rugs need to be washed by hand, which increases the price. Carpet cleaning companies often offer additional services, such as removing odors or applying moth deterrent, which can add 20 cents to 25 cents per square foot.

How much does it cost to clean a carpet?

Carpet cleaning costs vary depending on the type of cleaning, such as steam cleaning, and whether there are any stains that require special treatment. The main cost factors are the square footage of the carpet and the material it’s made from. The national average carpet cleaning price ranges from $100 to $130 for a typical suburban home, but steam cleaning prices start at an average of $120. In general, professional carpet cleaning ranges from an average of 20 cents to 50 cents per square foot, depending on where you live. Many companies have a minimum fee or room requirement — such as two rooms for an average of $40 each — and will charge more to clean carpeted stairs or a second floor. Finally, the carpet fiber type, density and pile will also affect the cost of cleaning; man-made fibers are stain-resistant and easier to clean, while wool carpeting is sensitive to water and requires more care.

What does carpet cleaning cost?

National average carpet cleaning prices range between $100 and $130. Carpet cleaning prices depend on how many square feet of carpet you want cleaned, how many rooms in one house or building will be cleaned, how stained your carpet is, how much the carpet cleaning company charges, your ZIP code, and the type of carpet you have. Cost per square foot can range from 20 cents to $1 or more, based on the above variables. Synthetic carpets are typically the least expensive to clean; natural fibers like wool cost more, as they require more care and attention, as well as more drying time. Excessive stains, challenging locations such as stairs, and accessibility also factor into your carpet cleaning price. Companies may charge a minimum service fee for cleaning a small carpet to cover their business expenses (paying employees, transporting the special equipment to your home). If your pet has repeatedly saturated the carpet with urine or if the fibers are extremely matted down, it may make more sense to completely replace your carpet than to continue to have it cleaned.
