FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes. I have joined my local carpenters Union and have been attending several classes for things that I have not done or done little of, like commercial carpentry.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Funny story. It had been a week since I had graduated high school in 1993. I was just bumming around, sleeping late and waking up late and not really doing anything. Well my mom called my uncle Pete to pick me up so that I could start working with him ( carpentry/remodeling. I remember I had gone to sleep at 4:00am. My uncle Pete was there at 6:00am. I was so upset that morning. So we get to the job site, and he puts me on the roof. We were installing stick framed joist and rafters on a home that was damaged half way do to a fire. Let me tell you, I fell in love right there and then and have been doing it ever since.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Go into the consultation with an open mind. Just because you might get a company or contractor that will take a project for lesser money doesn't always mean that the quality of the work will be good. I charge what I do because I have been in this buisness long enough to do a little bit of everything at one time or another. And I guarantee that I am worth every penny.
