We had a tree removed, and a couple of Live Oak trees shaped. The removed tree was very large and in a tight spot between two houses and a fence. They did an amazing job with absolutely NO DAMAGE to fence or property. For the trees that needed to be shaped, we left it up to them what to do. I couldn't have designed it any better if I tried. I would HIGHLY recommend Luna's Tree Service to anyone. Thank you Gilbert and Crew.

I had a fabulous experience with Rick and his crew. They were professional and created a beautiful backyard for us. We also had a new fence installed. When one of escape artist little dogs got out, Rick came back quickly to fix the fence. It was fabulous experience overall!

Fantastic. When he reached my house 1.5 hours after I first contacted him, he showed his card and driver lisence. He promptly got to work and did a great job replacing the glass in my sliding patio door. And his prices were very fair. I would recommend him in a heart beat

David was great from start to finish. He gave an estimate in writing the same day he looked at the ceiling repair work we needed. He scheduled timely and completed the work within the estimate in time and money. We plan to use him again for future painting and fence work.

Danny cleaned the driveway, sidewalks, cement fence (we have a corner lot entering subdivision), back patio, cedar patio furniture and got some old grime/mold off of house and siding. He did a great job. Only downside he wasn't able to clean the garage door. Whatever is on there is pretty stubborn. Great job though, the place looks fantastic.

Jose installed a new fence on our property and it looks great. He was easy to work with and flexible when we made some changes to the design. It took a little longer than expected, but in the end the finished product is exactly what we wanted and at a fair price.

Steven went above and beyond the call of duty to fix our fence. It was attached to our neighbor's fence, which was sliding down the hillside, pulling ours down with it. Steven put in a new post, cut our fence away from our neighbor's, and propped up our neighbor's fence, so that it would not slide any further. He also put in long screws into some boards that were blown loose by the wind. He did all this for less than the competition. Steven is a consummate professional, who does great work at a modest price. You will not be disappointed if you hire him. We've already got a couple more jobs lined up for him around the house.

Hired Johnny to replace a 14 foot section of privacy fence with gate. He was on time and very professional. He explained every step of the process while doing the replacement. If a problem was to arise he would let me know before proceeding with any work done. If I ever need any work around the house I will definitely be calling Johnny to get the job done. Quality work, Fair Prices, Great Value!

Saul came to my rescue after a vehicle went through my backyard doing substantial fence damage. He was there within a few hours after I called him and gave me thorough estimate. I later contacted him for the fence repair work which was done within three days after the contract was agreed upon. He was poliet and capable, plus he is relatively new in town so I recommend you give him a try. Lastly, his prices were comparable to slightly less than others, so someone to definitely call.

My Wife and I moved into our new home and was looking for a handyman. We hired Sean to stain our fence and to build shelves on our garage. Sean and his assistant were on time and completed the jobs to our satisfaction. We extended the list of things that we wanted Sean and his assistant to do. Everything was done in a professional manner. I hired Sean again 4 months later to assemble and level a storage shed. Sean delivered again, we were very satisfied with the finished product of all the projects that we hired him to do. Sean was on time and gave us a fair price quote for all of the task that he was scheduled to do. We would defiantly hire Sean again for any other handyman projects that we have in the future.

I’m a Realtor. My client needed services for fence and gate repair quick. When I went out for estimates, Julio with Angel Construction Services was one of the first to respond. For my situation, here is what I specifically appreciated: • promptness to respond and get to the essence of what I needed...thank you! • communication and negotiation qualities • willingness to provide a detailed estimate with information provided, saving an extra trip for both parties • flexibility with work schedule to get the job completed timely • thoroughness and quality of work • recap and tour of work performed • ability to build trust through work performed for future needs After evaluating this job from start to finish, I would definitely have Julio with Angel Construction Services in my speed dial for future needs. Attached to this review are a few before and after pics of the final job. Originally, the fence was missing pickets, had a heavy bow/lean on two sides, was severely discolored, and needed staining/water repellant. The gate was also broken and not opening very well. Additionally, a column on the porch had rotted skirt at base. All were restored at a reasonable price.

I would recommend Prosperity Lawn Care to anyone wanting a professional service. Rey and his crew are great, i had them rebuild a flower bed in the front of my house, as well as plant additional plants. I now use them on a bi-weekly basis to keep up my lawn. I wouldnt choose anyone else.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How long is welding training?

Because there are different paths to learning to weld, there’s no single timeline for welding training. Some people attend school part-time while working their current job, while others can focus full-time on their welding training courses. People interested in learning how to weld as a hobby can also take classes from professional welders, such as at KCMA & Services in Waterloo, Indiana.

Expect to take at least two years to go from welding newbie to American Welding Society Certified Welder. A junior college Certificate of Completion welding course is two semesters full-time, or 10 units of coursework. With this certificate, students are qualified for an apprenticeship or internship, rather than a full-time entry-level job. Welding apprenticeships range from 6,000 to 8,000 hours long, equalling three to four years at 2,000 hours per year. Some junior colleges, such as Cerritos College in the Los Angeles area, offer more in-depth welding programs that lead to different welding certifications, such as arc welding and tungsten gas arc welding. These take three to four semesters to complete, so you could be qualified for an entry-level job in about two years of full-time study. Alternatively, you can prepare for employment more quickly through an intensive vocational program at a trade school. For instance, Ohio’s Lincoln Electric Company offers a comprehensive program that prepares people for a welding career in just 20 weeks and 600 hours of hands-on instruction.

How much is a redwood fence per foot?

A redwood fence is a long-lasting home investment that can add beauty and major curb appeal to your home. Redwood fence installation costs are higher than those for pressure-treated pine or cedar, due to the relative scarcity of the wood. Pricing can vary for redwood fence installation costs based on regional labor rates, current prices of redwood planks, the height and linear feet of the fence, and any custom designs or features. Redwood fences, in addition to being beautiful, are naturally more resistant against bugs and rot than less hardy or dense woods. Redwood fences also generally fare well in wet or humid climates due to their natural oils — which also make them easier to maintain. Materials costs per linear foot for redwood planks can range anywhere from $6 to $20 or more, depending on grade, quality and height.

How much does it cost to put up a chain-link fence?

Chain-link fence is one of the most affordable options for adding safety and value to your home or business. The national average chain-link fence installation cost is $2,750. Chain-link fences are relatively simple for the pros to install; a fence of less than 150 linear feet can often be put up in under one day. A good rule of thumb is to add an additional workday for each additional 100 linear feet of fence to be installed.

Chain-link fence installation costs are affected by the fluctuating cost of steel, regional labor rates, the height of fence you select, and the features you select, such as a powder-coated finish. The industry standard is galvanized steel, which is rust- and corrosion-resistant. Galvanized chain-link fence installation cost, including labor and materials, is typically $12 per linear foot. For a more contemporary and elegant option, black powder-coated galvanized chain-link fence might cost approximately $15 per linear foot on average, including materials and labor. For industrial sites or businesses, 10-foot-high galvanized chain-link fences may provide additional security, but also have an added cost. A 10-foot-high chain-link fence could cost $17-$18 per linear foot, including labor and materials.

How much does it cost to install a vinyl fence?

A new fence can mean added home value, increased curb appeal, and improved home security. The national average vinyl fence installation cost is $4,600. Vinyl fences have a number of appealing qualities such as their durability, their lasting good looks (they don’t weather like wood does), their versatility, and the fact that they require little to no maintenance such as staining. Fencing companies typically charge per linear foot for vinyl fence installation. They calculate their estimates based on materials to be used, height of fence, linear feet of the proposed fence, and the accessibility of the terrain. If the workers need to level the land before work begins, your vinyl fence installation costs will probably increase. Vinyl fences are typically more expensive than wood or chain-link. For example, one company might charge $19-$22 per linear foot for a basic 6-foot vinyl privacy fence. Another company might charge $25-$35 per linear foot for standard vinyl fencing, while decorative fencing with custom detail could increase that cost to $50 per linear foot. For a 6-foot-high white vinyl privacy fence with two walk-through gates (plus demolition and disposal of the old fence), the cost of the total project could run $8,000. A 4-foot-high, 36-linear-foot white picket vinyl fence with one gate could cost $2,600.

How many types of welding are there?

Welding is a method of fusing together two or more pieces of metal using electricity or flame. Welding is used to construct buildings, make metal sculptures, build and repair cars, make gates and furniture, and for many other practical and aesthetic uses. There are multiple types of welding. Here is an overview of the most popular methods:

  • Stick welding: Formally known as shielded metal arc welding, stick welding uses extreme heat applied at the seam of two separate metals to melt them together. A third (intermediary) metal may also be incorporated for added strength. As the metals cool, they are bonded together.
  • Metal inert gas (MIG) welding: Formally known as gas metal arc welding, MIG welding uses a tool to feed metal wire into the weld puddle while an electrical arc melts the wire, which will fuse to the base metal upon cooling.
  • Tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding: Formally referred to gas tungsten arc welding, TIG welding is a similar process MIG welding, but instead of using a tool that continuously feeds metal wire into the weld puddle, the welder must hold and manually feed the stick.
  • Gas welding: A mix of flammable gas and oxygen is used to heat metal to the melting point.
  • Forge welding: Forging metal is an ancient art that involves heating two pieces of metal until they are molten, then hammering them together.
