As a person, I STAND OUT! Even when I try to blend in. How does my piano teaching stand out? I truly care about the well being and progress of my students. I believe that I succeed only when my students are successful. When parents come to me and tell me that their son or daughter has expressed to them that they feel Mr. Dustin really cares about their progress in piano...I have no doubt that I'm in the right place...doing the right thing. I do what I do because I believe in building relationships, building trust, and building friendships and a love for piano that last. There are many highly skilled, and experienced instructors here in this great city. However, my world of life experiences is an added bonus which allows me to offer insights and share ideas that are not common among the more "traditional" piano teachers. While I would say that my teaching style is more classic, I try to push the boundaries of what a classical piano teacher is expected to be. ~ As a piano teacher, teaching piano is more than just a job to me. Everyday, I wake up and look forward to seeing and working with my favorite people in the world. Music is a never ending journey. Learning the piano has shown me that I have strengths, and weaknesses. I have learned that meeting challenges head on offers me a chance to grow. I have taught piano in Alaska, California, Georgia and Texas. I have taught a wide variety of students ranging from, neighborhood children to Spurs players, preschoolers to Military. While I do not specialize in Autistic students or students with learning challenges, I have had the opportunity to work with a few.
