- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Canopy Tree Service is a active member of the San Antonio Arborist Association and its professionals attend monthly educational programs as well as seminars offered throughout the year. For example, this month (April 2014) the company will be attending an 8 hour tree climbing continuing education program.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Tree trimming and removal, stump grinding, and cabling and bracing are common services. Tree risk assessment and tree diagnosis are also done frequently.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Tree trimming and removal is dangerous. Insurance is a necessity. If an individual shows up on your doorstep in advance of brush pickup and offers to climb your trees on the spot and do some work, ask to see "Certificate of Liability Insurance." Adequate coverage recommended would be a million dollars. Say you want to take a look at their web site. Ask if they are an arborist and what their arborist number is so you can verify their credentials. The field of tree care is heavily populated with random individuals with little to no training and no insurance. Like selecting any professional, ask questions and verify.
