When it comes to contractors of any kind I am a skeptic, however in the situation I was in (needing to get a property cleaned asap) I had no choice but to use one and I have to say that Silver Water Solutions was simply amazing! Professional, reasonable, prompt and more importantly they did a GREAT job! In fact they did more than I expected. I hired Galveston Construction to remove both my neighbors' 6' privacy fences and my own 4' corral fence and replace them with one 6' pine privacy fence. They pulled out all of the old posts planted in concrete. They filled in all of the holes and erected a new fence using the latest construction tricks that I would have never thought of. They implimented a 2x6 Rot Board at the base with a 2x4 back creating a ledge to nail the slats into. The gates were framed in steel which he welded together, and included supports for additional strength. In addition to using only top grade lumber, the gate hardware is heavy duty and locks easily when closed. He custom fashioned the fence with great carpentry work around a few trees that were growing right on my property line. He was very careful to make sure that the neighbors were happy with the new construction. He even went as far as repairing the gate on the next door neighbor's fence that had been hanging in disrepair for years. What I got from Stan was a beautiful fence that will remain standing for years and years. Will I hire him again? I certainly will. His bid was his word. And written on a signed contract. No add-ons, no additional charges, no hassles, no bull shit. I never had a question as to what he was going to do at any time. A real pro.

I originally asked for my living room to be painted (a Thursday) I liked their work so much that I called them back to paint 2 more rooms the following Monday. Communication was easy and timely. When I popped up at my rental property unannounced, I found a young man diligently at work in a company tshirt. I will definitely use Brandstell again. The prices were fair and payment was easy. Our experience could not have been any better! From the initial meeting we knew Lightning was the right fit for us and we had already met with several Contractors prior and had more scheduled to meet that we actually canceled right after our meeting to get started with Lightning right away. Billy was our Project Man and before we even hired them he gave us a 3D color design that was exactly what we imagined. He even said to keep it if we went with another contractor so that they could do it exactly how we wanted it! He was the only one who provided us with a detailed design, schedule, and proposal breakdown and he did so without charging us a penny! I was sceptical initially as the other contractors were pushy, the other quotes were vague, hard to understand, and they were reluctant to explain which is why meeting with Lightning and seeing the 3D Rendering which they explained in detail to us was such a relief. I never imagined the finish product would be even better than the 3D rendering either, but when he knocked on my door to ask me to take a look on the final day, I felt like I was seeing my husband dream and my dream together for the first time even though I had been there the whole time! We started out just getting a new composite patio even though they gave us a proposal for everything, but we ended up using them for our entire outdoor space after the patio turned out perfect and better than the picture. We did a full outdoor kitchen with a brick pizza oven, grill, sink, and refrigerator, a huge travertine patio with a covered pergola and mosquito screen, several ceiling fans and power outlets, a fire pit with built in seating, a water feature with a waterfall and coy pond, and in-ground spa and could not be more pleased with everything. My husband is even wanting to get them to come back to do our indoor kitchen counters in the same concrete after seeing Billy's custom job with the outdoor countertop and bartop and we have very nice marble in there already Ha! They even mounted and installed my husband's misting system and televisions at no charge and told me "they couldn't deliver an unfinished product to us that we could not use and relax with right away." I was speechless to say the least. The only thing we are unhappy about is not having more work for that young man and his team as my husband and I haven't had such an exciting experience at home in years. If you are considering any outdoor improvements or projects you need to email me as this review does not do Lightning and our experience with them justice at all. We own a commercial property where I needed a remodeling crew quickly to repair our metal roof, remodel many tenant units, fix siding, paint, patch, move air conditioning units, fix door jams, gutters, plumbing, and more. I received quotes from 4 different vendors via Thumbtack. All of the vendors were good, but Campos was head and shoulders above the rest. First, his estimates came over quickly and his prices were great. Second, he takes immense pride in his work and the quality of work completed was above our expectations. Third, his communication before, during, and after the job was stellar. All jobs were completed on time or earlier. Many times he was able to start the same day or the next day. I cannot recommend Campos and his team highly enough for projects big or small. I have had other professionals review his work and they have agreed that Campos does great work for a great price. You will not be disappointed if you hire Campos Construction!

My experience with Reza was the best experience I have ever had with any contractor! When I hired Reza we were in the process of preparing our house to sell. We had a long list of items that needed to be done, and were on a tight timeframe to hit our planned listing date. Not only did Reza complete everything on the list and exceed my expectations in terms of quality, communication and cleanliness, but he also identified and resolved several issues with our house that we hadn't previously discussed. Even though he went above and beyond the scope of our agreement, he still honored the original quote without hesitation and completed all of the tasks on time. The best part of working with Reza is how genuine and trustworthy he is. He took a genuine interest in ensuring our house was ready to sell and took ownership of the work because he cares about his customers. I'm disappointed that I'm moving out of the area because I finally found a contractor I can trust to do work that meets and exceeds my standards. I hired Insight in February 2018 to help me complete repairs to my home after Harvey. Luckily I have flood insurance and we could start repairs right away. The project manager I was assigned was awesome! After a couple of weeks on the job I had already received multiple quotes, the total cost for the job and we were ready to start construction With that information I was able to make some additional work done and complete some additional work. Kevin, our project manager was very helpful throughout construction. The contractors we ultimately selected were great to work with, with very minimal concerns. The project was completed with only a few changes. We were able to save a lot of time and a few thousand dollars using Insight.

What is a general contractor?

When starting a home remodel or new construction project, you will probably hire a general contractor.
