Pet Sitting is a joy. Fur babies are such a large part of our lives. For us they are absolutely family. Our babies do not like to be away from home. We believe it's important that fur-babies are allowed to stay in their home. And we like to be able to pass on our love for these animals.

I offer professional in-home pet care and home sitting services. Piney Woods Pet and Home Sitting provides daily care while you are away. Each visit to your home is approximately 30 minutes long. During each visit, I will provide for all your pet's needs, including putting out clean bowls with fresh food and water, exercise, and administering any needed medications. I will also clean up the pet's daily waste, whether it is "poop scooping" in the yard or litter box. I will make every effort to follow your established routines. Pets need a routine and regular attention to basic needs, including interaction with people. I will play with your pet at each visit. Whether you travel for business or pleasure, the proper maintenance of your home during your absence is important to your peace of mind. Have you ever returned from a trip to find your spring gardening projects ruined due to lack of rain or attention? Have you put off scheduling needed visits from home maintenance professionals because no one could stay at home to meet the service provider? Would you be better able to relax and enjoy your trip if you knew someone was looking after your pool, taking your deliveries inside, and maintaining a "lived-in" look? Concierge services are also available. I will run errands and stock your refrigerator and/or pantry just prior to your arrival, so all you have to do is come in and put up your feet. If you have unique needs to be met for your home during your absence that are not described here, I will work with you to make sure your home is well cared for and ready to welcome you back. Be assured that no advertising will be present on my vehicle at the time of my visits to your home. Promotional magnets and window decals will be removed before I drive onto your property.

If you need me, let me know. I can clean your house and take care of your pets or your house. I also speak German, and I'm looking to make some site money.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is house sitting?

A house sitter watches your house while you are away for work or vacation, or if you have to be away for an extended period. House sitters can also provide pet-sitting services, staying in your home and caring for your pet while you are away. The house sitter can say overnight in your home while you’re gone, or stop by once a day to ensure everything is in order if your pet doesn’t need overnight supervision. Reptiles and most cats are just fine with daily visits and feeding.

House sitting provides major advantages to the homeowner. A regular presence in your house deters break-ins and theft. Home safety issues such as water leaks get noticed and dealt with right away, so you don’t come home to big problems. A house sitter can bring in your mail daily, care for your houseplants, and provide home safety and peace of mind.

How do I find a reliable house sitter?

House sitting can help keep your home safe and well cared for so you can be worry-free while you’re away for work or play. There are several steps you can take to make sure you hire a trustworthy house sitter and do your part to be a responsible host. One of the best ways to ensure a safe home is to hire a professional house sitter. Here are some key points to look for when hiring a house sitter:

  • Reviews and referrals: When searching for a house sitter, always read reviews. Previous experiences will indicate how the house sitter will care for your home while you’re away.
  • Contract: Sign a clearly written contract outlining services to be provided (e.g., mail in each day by 5 p.m.), the daily rate you are paying, and how long the services will be provided. You can also include any agreed-upon house rules in the written contract.
  • Your part: Leave important phone numbers (vet, emergency contact, etc.) and information on where to find emergency items like the circuit breaker and the fire extinguisher, and have a credit card on file with the veterinarian in case of emergencies if the house sitter is watching your pets.
