About Lifelong Fitness Personal Training Gym

Have you ever had the experience of starting a fitness and/or nutrition program only to have short term success and then you crash and burn in the end? It can be frustrating to set a goal and fall short of it. Whatever your goals are as is pertains to fitness and nutrition, we have the resources and the right trainers to help you achieve them.

We know of the struggles that our clients face as they progress through the journey of lifestyle change. We know that it is not an easy endeavor but we are willing and eager to help you achieve a more rewarding and energetic lifestyle.

We are different: we are then antithesis of gimmicky and faddish diets, short-lived fad workout programs and other trends that are fleeting in nature. Health and fitness is a serious topic and we will give you serious long term solutions.

Here is what sets us apart from other more traditional gyms:

(1) We base our programs around your exact needs and around your overall goals
-This means we do pre-testing to find your strengths and weakness and then base your program off of the data.

(2) We stress Nutrition
-Go to any other conventional gym and they will push supplements on you or tell you that their trainers are not qualified for nutrition.
-We offer you comprehensive nutritional plans.

(3) We are lifestyle change based
-This means that we will not just tell you to do 3 sets of 10, take your money and tell you “thanks?. As you will read in our Mission Statement, out goal is to teach you lifestyle change habits that will serve you for the rest of your life and not just the time that you are training with us. We know that we expect a lot from us and we will expect a lot from you as well as we truly are trying to change your life for the good forever.

(4) Accountability
-After you receive your customized resistance, cardiovascular, and nutritional programs, your will be held accountable to them every time you meet with your trainer without fail. We want you to succeed with your goals and we will make sure that you do!

(5) Credentials
-The Personal Training industry is saturated with so-called personal trainers. The problem is that few of them are qualified. Former high school athletes or recreational bodybuilders is all that it takes to become a trainer today along with a 2-day web-based seminar certification. In our opinion this is appalling.

-All of our trainers hold at least a 4 year degree in Exercise Science and a Post-Graduate Certification through accredited organizations such as the ACSM, NSCA, or ACE. These institutions require vigorous study and application before certification is granted.

    I love this gym! From the first day I stepped through the door, I've felt so comfortable working out here. I'm greeted by name every time. I feel like I could ask any trainer a question and they'd be happy to help me. The equipment is in great condition, and there's plenty of room to move around without tripping over equipment or other people. I love that my trainer (Marty) is not only there for me when I'm in the gym, but also throughout the week. I love that you can access the gym 24 hours a day. I love that there's no extra membership charge in addition to the training fees. The fees here are very competitive as well. It's a great value for an hour long session. I feel like I'm truly cared about at this gym, not like I'm just another person. I highly recommend Lifelong Fitness to help you reach your health and fitness goals!

    I discovered after trying to exercise and eat right on my own, that I didn't have the knowledge or the self-motivation to reach, and more importantly, maintain my fitness goals. That's when I decided to try Lifelong Fitness. I have been a member of Lifelong Fitness for 5 years now. My trainer has a wealth of knowledge in nutrition as well as weight training. My nutritional instruction has gone from the basics to as in depth as I want it to be. I have reached and maintained my goals and learned how to make life long changes to my lifestyle. My trainer keeps my workouts interesting and adjusts them to meet my specific needs. I'm very happy with my results and plan to continue with my training.

    I've been working out at Lifelong Fitness for over two years now and I love it! The trainers are all very knowledgeable and friendly. The facility is clean and full of great equipment. The most important part is the commitment the trainers have in their client's success. In the just over two years I have been training at lifelong fitness, I have lost 20+ pounds and packed on the muscle.     We love Lifelong Fitness! It's clean and has a friendly staff. My husband and I started going in January. We love how convenient it is. With your membership fee you get a personal trainer, help with food and you have access to the gym 24/7!

    I have always been able to maintain a fair level of fitness due to the activities I enjoy. I was never comfortable in a gym setting. As I've been getting older I find my activity level decreasing, my weight going up and strength and muscle were declining. After reading other reviews of gyms I realized pretty quickly what I didn't want. The reviews for Lifelong were all positive and sounded exactly what I was looking for. After meeting with Griff I was convinced that this was the right direction for me. I have to say that after six weeks all of my expectations were met and exceeded. Help with nutrition, motivation, accountability and encouragement were all things I needed to get started. I'm 63 years old and in six weeks I went from 235 to 215 and my body fat went from 22 to 18. The most Important part is that I feel better than I have in 20 years. I highly recommend Lifelong fitness for any age or fitness level as a way to get kick started. Marty was great to work with.

    I have been going to LIfelong Fitness for the last 10 weeks. I have learned so much about nutrition from my trainer, Jordan. It has helped me loose 10 pounds so far! I had a baby 6 months ago and thanks to Jordan's workouts for me and his advice on nutrition, I am back to my pre-pregnancy weight and starting to get even below that, which is my goal. Jordan is very knowledgable and has been a big help for helping me with my fitness goals. The owner, Griff, is always very friendly and ready to help when I come in to work out. The other trainers are all very friendly too making it a nice place to work out and not fee intimidated in any way. I highly recommend Lifelong fitness to anyone wanting help to reach their fitness goals!

    Lifelong Fitness manages to somehow incorporate everything that's right and good about the fitness industry! There's a palpable positive vibe that is motivating and inspiring both from the trainers and clientele. Makes you want to just keep going back for more....which just so happens to be a key ingredient to getting in the best shape of your life! Griff has really created something special with this gym and it's redeeming to the "gym scene" as a whole!

    In 2007, I accepted that I was not a self-motivator and I needed help to maintain my health and lifestyle. I wanted to find the right place-a place where a trainer would be knowledgeable and could meet my needs. That is when I first visited Lifelong Fitness and I have never left. My trainer embraced the goals which I had for myself. I was not gunning to be an Olympian. I just wanted to be able to enjoy a day on the slopes or a day biking. Not only do I enjoy physical activities, but I found the activities of daily life were easier. I did not huff and puff carrying in the groceries. My training has always been focused to my needs and over the several years it has also been full of variety. This has probably been one of the best things I have ever done for myself.

    I have been a member at lifelong fitness for nearly 6 months. I have enjoyed every moment of it. I was first impressed by the knowledge of the staff. They helped me develop a healthy eating plan that was practical and personal to fit me and my needs. Every week my trainer takes time to look at my micro nutrients to make sure that I am keeping my body in balance and eating the right kinds of food to help me lose weight and stay healthy. They are always able to answer questions and concerns that I have had. Not only have they helped me gain control of my eating habits, they have also taught me how to exercise the proper way. They have taught me how to weight train and how to mix in cardio in order to reach my full potential. I would recommend Lifelong Fitness to somehow who needs help managing their weight or someone who would like to train their body to be healthy and strong.
    Lifelong fitness has the feeling of a small community. All the trainers and fellow members know each other and offer support and help to others. Thank you Lifelong Fitness for changing my life for the better.

    I have spent the last 6 months working with Lifelong Fitness and Griff Neilson. I must say it is hands down the best Gym, Trainers and people I have ever been around in the exercise and nutrition industry. They are experts in Nutrition as well as designing specific workouts catered to your needs and abilities. The great thing is that it is an extremely friendly and almost family atmosphere. Very unique for a gym in my opinion. Griff is one of the few people I have met that will TRULY help you in any way possible. Many talk the talk but Griff Walks the Walk!     I have enjoyed my time being apart of Lifelong Fitness. The atmosphere is friendly and inviting with a knowledgable staff of trainers who really want to see you succeed and reach your goals. I loved the intensity of the workouts and the rotation of new workouts kept it fun and interesting. They kept me accountable with my nutrition and made sure I was eating and burning the right amount of calories. My trainer Shelli did an awesome job working with me and keeping me on track even through some frustrating plateaus. I have seen some amazing results because of Lifelong Fitness and will continue to make health and fitness a priority.

    I have been with lifelong Fitness for a little over a month now. Garrett is my trainer and I couldn't be happier with both. The gym is available to me whenever I need it and Garrett has been great to work with my schedule. As an out of shape person I was worried that I may feel a bit out of place at a gym full of personal trainers but I have felt comfortable and accepted from the first day and Griffin always says hi and somehow, even remembers everyone's name. It is not about shaming either it is simply teaching me how to live a healthy life.

    Lifelong Fitness is awesome! I must admit that I was a little less than enthusiastic when my wife first got the idea, but it has turned my life around. I’m down about 35 pounds, but more importantly, down about 13% body fat. I run faster and longer, enjoy life more and have even taken strokes off my golfing. Shelli at Lifelong is a miracle worker!     Lifelong Fitness has changed my life! I never thought of myself as a gym person. I always felt uncomfortable in a gym and knew I was out of place...That is until I signed up for Lifelong Fitness. I never imagined myself getting a personal trainer, those are celebs and Olympians, right? Well again, I was wrong. From the first time I spoke to Griff on the phone, this place was different. They gym is great for all fitness levels and abilities. They create a program that is best for YOU! I have had great results, I have learned so much about my body, and I have developed the confidence to be able to walk in to any gym and know I belong, although, why would I go anywhere else now that I have found a place that is full of people who are now family and friends to me. All of the trainers and clients are amazing, supportive, and fun. It has a great atmosphere.     I travel from Salt Lake each week to work with my trainer at Lifelong Fitness. Hiring a personal trainer has been the missing link in my efforts to build muscle. My trainer is an incredible mentor who has guided me through roadblocks I never knew existed; to a point where I am finally seeing results from my efforts and feeling more comfortable with my body.     After having two heart attacks and open-heart surgery, I needed to make some changes in my life. I walked into this gym, feeling completely overwhelmed and embarrassed about my health, but was greeted with acceptance and felt completely comfortable from the get go. The staff is fun and energetic. My trainer is aMAZEing. With her help I have corrected my eating habits, lost 35 pounds, gained a ton of muscle, and learned some new ways of thinking that have made my success possible. I still have a long way to go, but I wouldn’t have been able to do it on my own. If you are looking for a gym that accepts everyone regardless of size or skill, this is the place for you! Don’t get me wrong, it is HARD work, but I’m not exaggerating when I say this place is highly responsible for saving my life.

A. Personal Training and Corporate Wellness. We host a 12-week corporate program a 6-week Nutrition program called "Nutrition is Life" that help's clients integrate healthy, sustainable nutrition into their lifestyle forever.

A. -Completed a 12-week Pilot Program called FitMent Infinity Lifestyle Revolution Seminar Series with Mountain America Credit Union and was hired as their official Corporate Wellness Coach

-Recently certified as a Holistic Lifestyle Coach by the CHEK Institute. This is my 6th post-graduate certification.

-Helped a personal client lose 35 lbs and over-come sugar addiction.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Same as above.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. I would like to know what training a Personal Trainer must receive and what credentials they possess. Out of 400+ "certifying agencies" only 5-10 of then are accredited. Always look for two things when considering hiring a Personal Trainer:

1-Do they have a 4-year degree in the field of Exercise and/or Nutrition?

2-Do they possess an accredited certification such as ACSM, NASM, NSCA, or ACE?

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. What makes a good Personal Trainer? What are acceptable certifying bodies and organizations? Does the business have a good track record? Who leads it?

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. We do not just offer exercise...we offer a proven system designed to help you change your lifestyle. Our job is to teach you the principles of healthy nutrition and exercise so that you can continually apply them in your life well after you are finished with our services. Our mission is to help you change the habits that you want to change so that you can reach the goals that you want to reach and stay there! We are NOT about quick-fix solutions or fad diets. Our Personal Trainers and Lifestyle Coaches FAR exceed the industry standard as they are required to have at least a 4-year degree in Exercise and Nutrition Science. Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. Helping people change bad mental, dietary and physical habits. I love coaching and mentoring and supporting others in a way meaningful to them.

A. How do I continue to eat healthy and exercise after all of these years? My answer is that is who I am and it is not hard. I also firmly believe that ANYBODY can obtain a similar mindset with practice and persistence.

Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?

A. My favorite stories are the hundreds of success stories that I have seen and been personally involved in over my 16 year career in the health and fitness industry. There is nothing better than seeing somebody change, mentally, nutritionally and physically.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. The industry standards of how a Personal Trainer get's certified and how to discern the good from the bad.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. I have always had a knack for being healthy and I have always gotten a kick our of helping people succeed. It is very rewarding to me.

Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.

A. One of my trainers recently helped one of our clients lose 90 lbs and he has kept it off for a solid year and is now helping his closest friends do the same!

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. Yes, I have to keep up 4 certifications every other year and each of them takes at least 10 contact hours to stay current.

Q. What are the latest developments in your field? Are there any exciting things coming in the next few years or decade that will change your line of business?

A. The awareness that nutrition is easily 80% of any weight loss goal. Furthermore, consumers are learning that fad diets and supplements are not the long term answer. Nutrition education is on it's way and here to stay!

Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?

A. Be the very best in your field as the Personal Training and Coaching industry is flooded and only the best have a chance of surviving. Never stop learning, never stop caring, and never lose your passion for what you are teaching others to achieve.

Q. What is your greatest strength?

A. The ability to see people as people...not $ signs. The Personal Training industry is a volume based business that frequently forgets to Personal Training is deemed "Personal" for a reason.

Q. What are you currently working on improving?

A. My education...I want to become a Level III Holistic Lifestyle Coach through the CHEK Institute and I have only obtained Level I. I am scheduled to test for Level II in December.
