- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I, Maria, have been active in competitive dog sport since 1999. I have earned several titles in nose work and obedience both in the Us and in Europe where I grew up. I have since i moved to the US in 2011 worked with a private drug detection agency, and have a fully trained drug dog at home that I trained from scratch. I decided to start training Allergy alert service dogs, based on my own need for one and my desire to give other the same freedom that my own service dog gives me. Aside from my service dog I also have an obedience trained German shepherd named Erda and my up and coming Giant Schnauzer Teddy! I am a AKC certified tester and evaluator. The rest of my team are: Jaclyn Smith who is a very competent puppy trainer. She has also done protection and detection work for years. Her dog Sophie has protection titles and her Django is training for the same goals. Jaclyn also runs the group classes. Shaylie Colcord-London is our assistant/trainer in training. Shaylie is competing in rally and obedience with her wonderful pit bull Domino. She has a knack for working with smaller breeds and is the proud owner of Precious the chihuahua whom she has rehabilitated from a grumpy biter to a fun and playful companion!
