Introduction: ***Salt Lake City Office or Remote***
Hey! I am Dr. Alex. I’m an anti-stuckness and anti-burnout coach, and I’ve been “unsticking” people from their dull, anxiety-spiking, energy-sucking, unpurposeful, unfulfilling, and burnout-inducing jobs and lives since 2009. I base my coaching practice on helping clients achieve one goal: taking the next step forward in their life journey. And that step can be HARD.
All-in-all, you are reading my profile because you know you want to make a change.
If you answer any (or all) of these questions with a “hell yes,” we are likely a good fit together:
- Do you feel so stuck that everything seems overwhelming?
- Are you so burned out that you cannot even think straight?
- Do you feel like the life you are living is not authentically you?
- Are you unsure what the next step for you is?
- Do you know you need a change in your life journey, but have no idea where to start?
If you are looking for a resume writer, recruiter, therapist, someone to tell you what to do, or someone that doesn’t get great results for their clients, we aren’t a great fit.
I don’t write resumes. I’m not going to do a job search for you. I’m not a therapist. I will give you *very* honest feedback, but you must make your own choices. And I get great results: after working with over 600 clients in my personal practice, 94% say they are still experiencing permanent transformation (because who wants to fall back into old habits?).
You might be worried. Nervous. Anxious. Overwhelmed and confused (there is a lot of crap out there). So don’t get sucked into a one-size-fits-all coaching program with others that merely creates a temporary change that disappears once you stop. Instead, let’s co-create a journey together that speaks to your heart, mind, and soul. And ultimately, let's create the lasting transformation you are seeking.
In return, you will gain the greatest gift I can give. You will be heard, seen, valued, and supported.
And you will never feel alone again in your transformative journey.
-----I’ve been stuck before. I’ve been burned out before. I’ve felt wholly lost before. I’ve been in survival mode before. Quite a few times, actually. You can read about my major episode of burnout on my website.
It is relatively common: in a recent research study that I conducted, I found that 94% of people reported feeling “stuck” to some degree in the past three months, 84% of people were *currently* feeling burnt out to some degree, and 68% of people thought that they didn’t have a direction for their life. Where are you at in each of those measures?
This happens primarily because of one tiny (yet significant) thing: we lose our connection with our inner narrative.
But you are here because your inner self spoke out to you. And when we catch these glimmers of insight and channel our efforts in the right way, we can rebuild that connection, overcome burnout, get unstuck, and find the direction toward our next journey in life.
-----So, who am I?
I’m a widely read, award-winning political psychologist-turned-certified coach. I’ve got a Ph.D. with a background in academia to support the mind with all sorts of scientific tools and the open relatability to connect to the heart’s deeper needs.
I’m a warm, relatable, real, straight-shooting, and mildly sarcastic coach who achieves a genuine and authentic relationship with my clients without compromising on frank and direct feedback.
As a research and consulting executive, I led the research, development, and publication of the most extensive world report on employee experience; it’s the most widely read report of its kind. I’ve also been published in the Washington Post, Fast Company, Forbes, HBR, and many other media outlets.
My specialty as a political psychologist is understanding how humans connect with each other. This perspective helps me get my clients unstuck, unburned out, and moving forward in their lives.
Together, my blend of experiences has powered my unique perspective on individual potential, development, anti-stuckness, and anti-burnout. And I’ve been coaching since 2009.
-----Why don’t you have more Thumbtack reviews?
A friend suggested that I leverage Thumbtack as another avenue for people to access my coaching practice (particularly outside Salt Lake City). After doing a bit of research, I agreed. Including Thumbtack as a unique source of coachees has added even greater depth and breadth to my coaching practice.
Because I limit the number of coachees that I work with in any given timeframe (see below for more details), opportunities to work with me through Thumbtack are limited to my available slots.
-----Are you wondering if we are a good fit? Maybe on the fence?
We should meet and ensure that we are an excellent fit for each other. Most clients are! But sometimes personality differences, what you need from a coach, and what you want to work towards are simply not a match. That is why I offer a free, 25-minute, Synergy call. This way, we can both feel comfortable with our partnership going forward.
-----What is your coaching structure?
I work one-on-one with only 20 people at a time via Zoom. These clients commit to coaching, and we have a set day and time for our partnership. We meet weekly for 55 minutes over a month, quarter, six months, or year. The average time that coachees spend with me is about three months, so I have only a few openings each month for new clients.
-----Who don’t you work with?
A common question. And basically, I work with everyone as long as we have good synergy, my coaching practice and approach are a good fit for them, and I feel that our partnership would be a value-add for them (and for me!).
With that said, I do not work with individuals under the age of 24. Also, please do not message me on behalf of another person (including a friend or family member, no matter how close). If they are interested, please have them reach out to me directly. I am ethically unable to engage with an individual without consent and an explicit agreement. Lastly, I do not write resumes or tell you what your career is, so please do not contact me for those services.

-----There are cheaper coaches, why can’t you lower your fee?
It’s simple: I co-create transformative results through a unique blend of science-based techniques. There is not a one-size-fits-all approach with me. Each coachee is unique, requiring a crafted experience for the coachee, which a practitioner can only do with specialized training, knowledge, and expertise. For example:
Ph.D. | University of Utah | Political Psychology | Human Connection
Certified Coach | Goal Imagery Institute
Practitioner | American Psychology Association, American Sociology Association, American Political Science Association, American Industrial Psychology Association
Member | International Coaching Federation
Neurolinguistic Coaching | Goal Imagery Institute
Visualization and Mindfulness | Institute of Mindfulness
Certified Coach | Association for Talent Development
I also take 120+ hours of continuing education each year to ensure that my coaching practice remains up to date.
I complete four (4) to six (6) research studies each year to validate my tools and methods, add additional tools and techniques and remove/modify any science-based tools that no longer work as designed.
