About
My name is Max, and I’m a graduate of the jazz program at University of Utah. I offer one-on-one piano and music theory lessons from my home in Salt Lake City.
I specialize in jazz theory and improvisation, helping students not only read music, but truly understand what they’re playing and how to create their own sound. Whether you’re a beginner or looking to deepen your skills, I’ll tailor each lesson to your goals and pace.
I’m available full-time, so scheduling is flexible. I also offer a free introductory lesson so we can meet, discuss your goals, and see if we’re a good fit.
If you’re ready to grow as a musician, I’d be happy to help you get started.

Max is extraordinary! He is attentive, explains concepts well and always keeps a professional demeanor. Although I had 10 years of piano training already, I am slowly losing my eyesight and asked Max if he would teach me the rudiments of jazz improvisation so that I can play without the aid of written music. My lessons are the highlight of my week and I am slowly beginning to grasp the theory behind playing the piano. I highly recommend Max as a teacher!

I started piano as an adult and was very nervous. Max has been an excellent teacher, very patient with me, and I'm very happy with how much I've learned with him as my teacher. He excels in adapting lessons to his students and explaining concepts in multiple ways so that it's understood. I'd recommend Max to anyone at any age who is interested in piano!

Max has been my piano a teacher for over a year now and I couldn’t be more grateful. He truly deserves five stars for being such a patient, professional, intelligent piano teacher.
I had very little experience/ knowledge of the piano starting out and I feel like I’ve learned so much with max, in such a short amount of time. He’s super easy to work with, and very flexible. Taking pianolessons with max has easily been once of the best decisions I’ve made, and I 100% recommend him to anyone, with any amount of experience in the Slc area.
