I've been doing part time photography for years and I've finally made the leap into full time in conjunction with finding the studio of my dreams as of this June 2021. Money is tight, and as professionals, we're charged the moment you click "check availability." So, INQUIRIES can be made through my SITE contact page, or through Thumbtack. Now, a bit of my background:
My name is Andy and I think I can fully call myself a professional photographer as it's my only and very fun source of income. Strangely enough, I have a Neuroscience degree from Johns Hopkins University and I wanted to become a doctor for most of my life. After becoming friends with medical students, residents, and doctors at the school, there was a resounding and unanimous "DON'T DO IT, MAN."
The nail in the coffin was something my advisor told me: "I've never met a Neurosurgeon that was still a kind person after residency." I had an identity crisis my last year and the only positive thoughts I was thinking were how I could still keep all my hobbies if I didn't go to medical school and found more lenient work. An even more exciting epiphany grew the months before my graduation, 'what if I make money doing some of my hobbies?'
So, here I am. I turned my love for photography into a career and I've realized that my time at Hopkins wasn't misspent. I have the same drive to learn, practice, experiment, and grow in this field as I had in the medical field.
If you've made it this far, thank you for reading my story. I'm incredibly grateful and passionate about photography and would love to work with any and all people to bring their stories to life.
Additionally, as I've heard some horror stories from clients of paying a lot of money for shots they didn't love, all my sessions are guaranteed.
You love the shots or you don't have to pay for them, simple as that. Otherwise, we can do another session to fix whatever was initially wrong in the first session.

Working with Andy was great. He professionally coached me through various photography options to provide the headshot that captured me and the image I needed. he understood the brief provided, he did the research required to match the style I was after. I am taking my freshman college son to get his photo done as well for his college and business profile...it was a fun session.

Andy was absolutely fantastic to work with, and I cannot recommend him highly enough. We hired him to do our wedding photography, and from the first time we met him, he was 100% focused on understanding what our vision for the wedding was and how he could best capture it. He was constantly in contact and incredibly responsive. He had even gone to the location a few days before our wedding to scout out good photo opportunities and get a sense for the lighting we would be working with. On the big day, he was on time, totally prepared, and did an awesome job guiding us through the photo shoot. His posing directions were clear and helpful, and his eye for perfect compositions and shockingly good candid shots meant that we got so much more than just the typical wedding photos. I had expected that due to it being an outdoor wedding in the harsh sunlight of afternoon, the photos would be “only okay”, but they actually turned out to be incredible - I could not be any happier with them.
On top of it all, he sent a huge bulk of our touched-up photos to us later that same day.

Andy was great to work with! Even though I was nervous for my photo shoot, he made me feel at ease. He was very responsive with messages and the time from our first message to having my edits was only four or five days. I am very happy with my experience with Andy for my headshots.
