About
Shawn "Pops" Foster teaches beginning, intermediate and early advanced violin for children, teen and adult students. Pops has experience teaching Suzuki Method and Marc O'Connor Method. For the past five years, he has taught a range of styles --from classical to bluegrass, Western Swing and country. Pops was a newspaper reporter for more than ten years. He was an attorney for fifteen years. In all that time, in his heart, he was always a musician. Now Pops splits his time between teaching, rehearsing and performing. He plays music all over Utah and across the West playing fifty to sixty gigs a year. Pops offers lessons at a home studio in downtown Salt Lake City, studio space in Sandy, and a limited number in students' homes.
