Altitude Construction of West Jordan
I hired Altitude Construction for siding, soffit/fascia repairs, and gutter replacement. Unfortunately, the entire experience was disappointing, from communication and coordination to workmanship and follow-through.
Communication was consistently poor, requiring repeated follow-ups. Subcontractors showed up unannounced, often without knowing the scope of work, leaving us to explain what needed to be done. At one point, I was told materials had been ordered, only to have a subcontractor arrive to determine what needed to be purchased.
The workmanship was also disappointing. The siding received only one coat of paint, leaving visible caulking over the nail heads. The new gutters were improperly pitched and continue to hold water, leaving us with essentially the same drainage issues we paid to correct.
The most frustrating part was their handling of final payment. They insisted on payment before completing a final walkthrough and threatened a 5% late fee. When I explained that I was on a planned vacation, they refused to adjust the deadline, even though they agreed the walkthrough could happen afterward.
Their definition of "complete" was particularly frustrating. I asked whether painting my house pink when I requested gray would still count as completed work. I was told yes, and that correcting it would be a warranty issue. Apparently, doing the work incorrectly still qualifies as complete, and payment is due regardless. I paid, but despite numerous follow-ups, the walkthrough never happened and the issues were never addressed.
Subcontractors also left debris, discarded some of our belongings, and damaged our gravel area with their vehicles.
Ironically, I was told the company was founded to address the very problem of contractors disappearing after receiving payment. Unfortunately, that's exactly what happened. I regret hiring them and would not recommend their services.
