Introduction: I am a professional singer and guitarist. I also play harmonica, ukulele, and perform to pre-recorded tracks for a one-man-band sound (mostly beach & reggae music). When I play acoustic guitar I use a vocal harmonizer & looper pedal for a sound that's much bigger than one person. I perform for restaurants, clubs, parties, wedding ceremonies, wedding receptions, corporate events, and anywhere else that live music would add to the event. There is more information, audio, video, a song list, etc. on my website.

Solo Musician Entertainment

Steve played at our wedding on October 1st. We had our guest arrive about an hour before the ceremony and Steve entertained them on the patio area while they enjoyed appetizers and drinks. Our guests then moved to the front of the plantation home we had rented and Steve moved to his 2nd set up he had there to continue entertaining our guests before switching to music for the procession. After the service, Steve again set up on the patio and played for several hours. The music that Steve played was perfect over dinner and the hours that followed. Later in the evening, Steve allowed the younger guest to play dance music through his sound system that got the crowd dancing late into the night. While we told Steve multiple times that he didn't have to stay, he graciously stayed well past the time we had agreed upon without asking to be compensated (we did on our own). We have received many compliments from our guest about how great Steve was. We would highly recommend Steve for your event. Steve --thanks for making our wedding so special!!! Paul and Tracy

My son was married and we held a morning after breakfast. We hired Steve to provide some singer/songwriter music. He was fabulous. Everyone loved him! In addition to being a fantastic talent, he showed up early, and was professional. I would 100% hire him again. Thanks Steve for an incredible performance!

Steve was fantastic to work with! We got married at Waterfront park and he handled the music for the ceremony and provided the AV equipment we needed to make it a seamless event. He was so responsive and even popped by the park to see where the outlets were ahead of time. With everything going on the day of our wedding, I was so grateful that I knew everything was taken care of and we didn’t need to worry. Thank you so so much!!

Steve did an amazing job for our family playing music for a memorial/celebration of life. He learned new songs that we had selected for the program and excuted them perfectly. Two days before the service my father passed too. I called Steve and told him and requested another song for the program that my father always told me he wanted played.. and Steve came through for us! I left it up to Steve to select music for the rest of the time outside of the program and he did a fantastic job! Thank you Steve for such a beautiful job at such a very difficult time. What wonderful music to celebrate both my mom and dad. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you again! Awesome job.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I list my fee as $125/hr because Thumbtack requires I give an hourly fee. But that's not really how I charge. For musicians - unlike say, plumbers - there is a lot of demand on some days compared to others. Weekend nights are big for entertainment. I charge more for Saturday nights (so do all other musicians). Mondays, not so much. Also, most of the work for me is getting to the place where I'll perform, setting up to play, tearing down afterwards, and going home. The rest is fun! Even if I'm only going to play for 15 minutes, I still have to do the work I'd have to do if I played 4 hours. So the length of time I play matters, but not as much as you'd think. My fees usually start at $300.
