Provide clear written estimates and specify assumptions in devising the estimate (like start to finish times daily, number of workers, materials provided or excluded, etc). Keep to schedule and manpower estimated. Don't accept more jobs than they can complete on schedule and with professional quality finish. Have a site manager show up periodically to confirm. Multiple tasks are on schedule and done to code. Check completed projects for final quality before telling the customer the work is done and ready for payment. Have a site manager coordinate and confirm scheduling vs daily workers. I have had to hire other contractors to repair or redo the work done by State Solution(s) since, and did not have their worker show up to finish all work originally estimated. It also took weeks to get done what was done. I had to explain what i wanted daily, and supervise onsite to make sure work was not done unnecessarily or out of priority order. For example the interior trim and face of my front door was painted with multiple coats instead of painting the exterior of the door which was what i hired them to do on that project. To have to supervise adults while I'm home working is worth paying more to avoid. However, i did not end up arranging full payment (only 75%) because they worker did not finish the last 25% of the work hired to do before he stopped showing up. He kept offering to do more and promising the original work was still going to be done, and at first I let him bc of the wasted materials and time from earlier projects (like with the front door). Then i realized it wasn't dependable or quality finishes for anything and terminated attempts to continue service from this company. Photos to be added later.
