I've hired Jeff now to help with two projects--helping with our powder room (installed shiplap to the walls, installed the new toilet, put plumbing in the pedestal vanity and installed the new door along with the handle), as well as installing our new front door with sidelights.
The powder room looks fantastic and I'm very pleased with the handiwork of both Jeff and his colleague, EJ. It was nice that he didn't pressure us to pay a lump sum and do the entire thing himself. We like to do DIY when we can, but time/skill level doesn't always allow. I painted, my husband installed the tile floor, and Jeff did the rest. I was pleasantly surprised to learn he does plumbing too, because we've been rooked by a few plumbers who wanted to charge roughly double what Jeff charged to install the new toilet and put plumbing in the sink. He obviously takes pride in his work and stays until the last detail is taken care of. He has a friendly and fun personality, too. He gives tips along the way without being condescending.
He and a different colleague also spent a recent Saturday installing our new door/sidelights after the previous (ugly) door/frame had been damaged in a windstorm. He not only directed us on where to get the high-quality door (TW Perry), but he and his colleague did impeccable work to ensure it fit and closed properly so my husband can have his dream smart lock system (#suburbanlifegoals). I couldn't be happier with how the door turned out, and now we can lock our door--how novel!
Our house was built in 1971 so we have no shortage of projects on our radar, and I wouldn't hesitate to hire Jeff again--and we will! His rates are always lower than other quotes I have gotten for the same work, without sacrificing on attention to detail.

I hired Colwill Construction & Design, LLC to do handyman work in my home. I had lots of jobs from repairing front and back doors, drywall work, painting and repairing railings and power washing front and back concrete areas. There were other things needed and included in these visits. They spent more than adequate time in my home to make sure the jobs were done well. The work was done to the utmost of my satisfaction and was surprisingly quite affordable and guaranteed. I was able to get a written estimate of what the labor and material costs would be, allowing me to know, in advance, if I could afford it. I appreciate that there were no hidden costs, expert work, and friendly staff. I felt comfortable with the staff and was very happy with the work! I will definitely use this company again and thank Jeff Colwall and staff for allowing me to get a lot of work done at an affordable price.

Jeff is thorough in assessing the job and conscientious about communicating. He fixed a longstanding problem in my kitchen, and patched a substantial hole in my ceiling. His drywall work is perfect! I'll definitely hire him again.

My list of "handyman" needs was quite extensive and varied - electrical, plumbing, woodworking. Jeff and his team were able to handle it all. Jeff has an eye for detail and is not satisfied until the work is done perfectly. One of my projects required "thinking outside the box" resulting in a terrific solution for a problem area in my kitchen. I will use Jeff again and have already started a new list of projects.

I hired Jeff to install a medicine cabinet. After I spent hours trying to install it and found out from the manufacturer that it had sent me the incorrect installation instructions, I decided to save my time and get a professional to install it. Jeff came in with a realistic bid and he confirmed it with a site visit. He was able to get to my small job within a week. He discussed both surface mounting and recess mounting the cabinet based upon his experience. Once he removed the dry wall, he was able to confirm he could recess mount the medicine cabinet which would look more aesthetically pleasing. I was very satisfied with the installation and he left the dry wall ready for painting; minimal dry wall dust entered the master bedroom. I would not hesitate to hire Colwill Design for future projects!
