Acrylic painting lessons for two! I was very pleased that the owner was so accomodating to our needs. Both of us worked on the same basic picture, and the instructor was quite helpful. We think we're going to sign up for some more lessons!
I am a classically-trained artist and teacher. I am a professor at the Corcoran School of Art in Washington, DC and a part-time instructor at the Art League of Alexandria, VA. I teach drawing, painting and sculpture. I also teach privately in my studio in Silver Spring, MD. I have been doing it all my life, so I have lots of experience with students of all levels, including absolute beginners. I am passionate about art, and I convey it to my students. I am also very interested in art history, so that plays a big role in how I teach. I use a lot of references and examples from other artists. I am serious about teaching, but I am also a friendly and open-minded person. I always try to create a good atmosphere in my class, so that students are not intimidated. I have a professionally equipped spacious studio at my house, where I teach private lessons.
I am an art teacher with a background in classical techniques in oil painting and drawing. I am also available for portrait, pet portrait and landscape/interior commissions.
My 13-year old son has been learning lessons from Artist Z for a month. We have 3.5 hours a week in the artist's studio. My son is getting along very well with the artist and making nice progress. The artist is professional and dedicated with high responsibility.
I am offering art classes for children and teens, summer art camps, adult art workshops, and home-school classes. The complete class schedule is on the website. Teaching art is also a gift. I am a teacher who has over 18 years of teaching experience and provides the right environment for not only learning art, but the kind of learning of art which benefits other academics, and the kind of thinking which teaches life skills. The price range shown includes and is determined by whether it is a group class or private instruction. "My son (7 years old at the time) attended art classes provided by Lisa. She did a wonderful job working with my son who is an odd combination of being a very intelligent boy, but also one who has sensory integration dysfunction (which affects his behavior). Lisa's instruction not only provided a basis for new skills in various forms of art, but also helped him mature and develop teamwork and interpersonal skills." - Kevin Peterson

It is this artist's journey into the generational world of hip hop using the wonders and sensational mood altering and mysteries and power of chocolate as a visual metaphor in design and visual consciousness.

Extreme Art Project provides art tutoring and art activities for events and birthday parties for kids! We are a kid-oriented group of people whose primary goal is for everyone to have a good time. We aren't afraid of making a mess and getting the kids involved. Having us at an event means that every kid in attendance gets to take something home with them to remember the event by. When tutoring, our goal is to teach and help students express themselves while learning about concepts and art history by bringing in elements of what they are learning in their other studies.
