I am a senior at American University and first contacted Bill to help me prep for the math portion of the GRE. I experienced a jump of over 10 points on my math portion after working with Bill! Bill is an awesome tutor. He is flexible and quick to respond to changes in my busy schedule. He is also high energy and makes the process exciting! It was apparent during our first lesson that Bill really has a passion for teaching mathematics.
Mr. Mougy Ahmed has done wonders as a math tutor for our sophomore son! He has a very agreeable, non-threatening tutoring style, and our son enjoyed working with him right away. Our son was getting D's and C's in Algebra II , even with the assistance of a previous math tutor. Mougy came to our house and immediately recognized where our son was misunderstanding foundational concepts in Algebra II, and worked with him to build up that knowledge base and apply those skills correctly. He has been highly responsive in setting up tutoring sessions, sending additional lessons/exercises via email, and even holding extra sessions in advance of math tests/quizzes. As a direct result of Mougy's tutoring, our son earned a B+ and an A on his last two math tests. We highly recommend him to any student or parent who is searching for tutoring assistance.
Words cannot describe how much of an impact John Young has made on my life. He is a great role model as well as a great tutor he can do anything from math to science, he never gets frustrated with you and he never minds going over it with you over and over again. I honestly don't know what I would have done without him throughout my high school math experience as well as my college math experience. I am now about to graduate from John Tyler Community College all thanks to his help. If you are looking for someone who is amazing at tutoring and won't make you feel dumb for asking questions (like how you feel in class) this is your guy.
Kendra was my personal tutor to help me prepare for the GMAT exam. She is brilliant at simplifying concepts, particularly math, and making them accessible for anyone to understand and recreate. She bridges gaps between, what I find, esoteric and abstract math concepts that are difficult to conceptualize into simple, real-world problems that can be easily solved. Could not recommend her enough!
Lubna is the best teacher I’ve ever been taught by. She is very patient and explains concepts very thoroughly. What amazes me the most has to be the fact that she genuinely wants her students to succeed! I highly recommend her to anyone as you will see an improvement in your studies! A bonus has to be that she is fun to be around:)
Justin tutored me over the course of a few months as I prepared for the GRE as part of my business school application prep. When I came to Justin I had already taken the test once and was feeling discouraged and hopeless (particularly when it came to the math section). After spending about 10 sessions with Justin and following his prescribed study regimen, I felt confident going into my next test. Both my Math and Verbal improved greatly due to Justin’s guidance and because of our time together I am preparing to attend a top 15 business school in August. Private tutoring was a big investment for me, but it was one I will never regret!
I was tutored for the math section of my SAT because I scored a low 500 and wanted to improve. I really liked Charles because he was extremely organized and knew exactly how to get through all the sections reasonably within our time frame. While working through each section, he was very helpful and thorough in making sure that I was learning how to do the problems and improving my math skills. At the end of the six week period he had me take a practice SAT test, and I ended up scoring 100 points better than I scored my first time taking the SAT. During the actual math section of my SAT, I felt a lot more comfortable and like I actually knew how to find the answers. Overall, I'm very satisfied with what I got out of the tutoring sessions, and because he's extremely helpful and determined to help, I would definitely recommend him to a friend!
I am attending Georgetown's full-time MBA program this fall, and I can't be any more excited about this! I have started my own math tutoring business. My day job is an actuarial consultant, where I must effectively communicate mathematical concepts on a daily basis. I have undergraduate degrees in statistics and economics from the University of Maryland (2006). I have a strong and comprehensive math background, but I specialize in tutoring the following: * GMAT Math * GRE Math * SAT Math * Stats In the past, I have spent about half of my time prepping people for standardized tests and about half of my time tutoring people enrolled in Statistics courses.
