I hired D3 movers to move from a two bedroom apartment to a small house about 10 miles away. I was very satisfied with my experience with D3 movers from start to finish. They were very professional, they worked quickly, and were careful when moving my furniture. They were also nice guys; they provided solid customer service. Their price was very reasonable, cheaper than most moving companies I got quotes from. It was nice to not have to worry about renting my own truck -- you just schedule the move and they take care of the rest. I would highly recommend going with D3 if you need to move in the Blacksburg - Roanoke area.

Patrick was of great help in assembling my new bed and dresser. My 6 drawer dresser was the most complicated piece of furniture assembly I've ever bought, but Patrick and his partner tackled it much faster than I expected. They were nice and professional and I would definitely recommend them!

I needed help moving furniture into my two bedroom apartment. Around 10 items. It was a very hot day... around 95 degrees! David and his team showed up earlier than I did to the meeting location. They were courteous, helpful, and careful with all the items! Can't beat the price quoted and the service was beyond what I expected. I plan to use these guys if I ever need them in the future. They were even patient with me when I wasn't happy with how a certain price of furniture looked along a wall and hauled the pieces to my satisfaction. (Can we say above and beyond??) Can't say it enough, highly recommended!!

D3 movers did an amazing job of helping us move our furniture out of state. They were fast, careful, communicative, and clearly very experienced movers. Everything made it to the other end in one piece.

Hired Roanoke Movers to load two moving trucks. They did a fantastic job despite freezing weather and three flights of stairs! I was amazed at how well they packed the trucks, they made use of every inch of space! Definitely hard workers! I would recommend Roanoke Movers and would call them again for another move.

How much should you tip furniture movers?

Moving furniture is hard work and potentially dangerous unless you’re properly equipped. For anyone not ready to handle their heavy oak armoire alone, professional furniture movers can safely and efficiently move your items to another room in your house or across town as needed. The national average cost to hire heavy furniture movers is $150-$200 per hour. This rate could include multiple furniture movers working as a team to move items such as beds, armoires, billiards tables, pianos, shelves, tables, entertainment centers and more. Hourly rates can vary by region. If your furniture movers have arrived on time, done a great job, kept your home and belongings protected from scratches and dings, and completed the move as planned, a tip will be greatly appreciated. Moving companies suggest approximately 10 percent of the total bill as gratuity for those doing local moving jobs, which is also a good guideline for tipping heavy furniture movers. If the total bill for heavy moving was $100 and two workers were onsite, consider giving them $10 total, or $5 each for a job well done.
