Sonya Brooks, the owner of An Affair to Remember by Sazi, is more interested in your money than the quality of the product she provides. Ms. Brooks had several months to have flowers ready for the wedding; however, did not provide flowers on the wedding day and caused an extensive delay to the start of the wedding. She overbooks, is hard to get in touch with, and unprofessional. She severely lacks attention to detail, which would be expected in her line of work. I highly suggest you look elsewhere and avoid Event Central, where she currently rents space. DO NOT RECOMMEND!
An Affair To Remember by Sazi's reply
This bride came to me in distress, in tears and in desperate need of help. Because I liked her so much I created an estimate offering her what she wanted (and then some). Not to mention services such as setup that I deeply discounted or gave for free because I liked her so much. I did not have her flowers ready the day of the event and did not deny this but I did however finish the bridesmaids bouquets at the last minute which did cause a delay in the wedding. Yes I had 2 other events to setup that same weekend (not unusual) and as with any wedding anything that can happen will happen and it did. I unfortunately did not complete the groomsman's bouts nor the corsages for the mothers (all were fresh) and in turn offered a full refund for the flowers (which has been paid). Other than the missing flowers and delay their event was beautiful (their words at the end of the night). After their honeymoon they decided they were unhappy with the services they received and I did nothing to their liking and ruined their whole wedding. They claimed the chair sashes all fell down and their guest had to retie "over half of them" (NOT). Their linens were all wrinkled and their wedding party had to steam at the last minute (NOT). The overlay on the head table had packing creases in them (not wrinkled). They (or their planner) did not notify their venue that there were overlays and runners to go on the tables and their venue then rushed my team to supply the overlays in order to set the tables. Their venue was not to be setup until the morning of their wedding and the week of they decide to tell me we can get in the evening before to setup (this is after I have scheduled other events around them). They gave an inaccurate count of 100 guest and at time of setup they had 130. I supplied the additional linens (among other items) at NO EXTRA COST!!! Long story short, they loved and praised me and my setup and even hugged me at the end of the night. When I offered and paid them the refund that I did they obviously wanted more of which they did not deserve as I provided the decor and event setup and services they requested. My business is a for profit business just like any other business. My priority is not only to make money but to provide the best customer service and events to my customers in order to make a profit. People take advantage of small businesses to get ALL they can for as little as possible then complain when the least little thing goes wrong blowing it completely out of proportion. None the less there are 3 sides to every story (yours, mine and the truth). Below are a few pictures of this customers event just to show the extent of my work provided to this customer (for much less than I should have charged). It pains me to say people are quick to post negative reviews about services as opposed to posting positive comments and reviews. I can honestly say I have more satisfied customers that appreciated my work than I do unsatisfied and am truly thankful for them all. Regardless of this customer's negativity my work speaks for itself.
