After a great stint of piano and violin lessons, we just began with Johnny Walker, Aida's strings teacher, to start my son on cello. We are so impressed with him - he knows HOW to teach, asking questions, guiding my son to think and understand rather than a mere demonstrate-and-repeat style. My son immediately took to him and can hardly wait between lessons for the next. Thank you!

“It has been a great learning experience for my two daughters. I don’t think I could ever find a better piano teacher. Not only does Ms. Heather share her great talent with my kids, she is also very friendly and always cheerful and looking forward to teaching them. My daughters have improved dramatically since we started with her a few years ago. We also really enjoy the convenience of in home lessons! I highly recommend Lessons In Your Home for music lessons. Hannah taught my 2 daughters beginning violin. They first saw Hannah play violin at church when she was a teenager. Both were impressed with her ability to play and the beautiful sound. Hannah instructed my 7 and 8 year old girls in her home. She was always prompt; never kept us waiting and used her instruction time well. She used different techniques and showed her versatility in instructing when one of my daughters would struggle. My daughters have very different personalities and musical abilities and Hannah was able to pull the best out of both of them, encouraging them individually and their specific abilities. Hannah's love of music and her instrument is evident whenever you hear her play or instruct. She was patient, encouraging and desiring my girls to do well, which prompted them to practice and want to do well themselves.

Our son has attended one violin lesson so far. Joanna determined a problem with his finger positioning on the strings immediately and showed him how to fix it right away. The homework she has given my son has kept his interest. He already seems more motivated. We will see how things go as we proceed, but we are pleased so far.

My son loved Amy's teaching style and personality from the first minute! His interest in learning to play the piano only increased once he started because Amy makes it so much for for him! We had a choice of several excellent teachers through Thumbtack. I regret that we could only pick one because they all appear to be great, but Amy was the perfect choice for our son and we couldn't be happier!

I found Victor here on this website for a guitar teacher for my son and when it came down to needing to hire a teacher Victor had followed up with me. So I took advantage of the first free lesson and he's been my sons guitar teacher ever since. Victor is very patient and knowledgeable, the personal attention and care he gives to each individual child is wonderful. You can tell that he has a love for music and this is his passion. I've spoken to other families that he teaches(some for several years) and they all agree. He works well with my son on incorporating styles and songs he is interested in as well as teaching music theory and basics. My son was a beginner 6 months ago and now he is playing full songs confidently. He loves coming to guitar class and learning new techniques, and songs. I plan on continuing until my son can pay for lessons himself. I highly recommend Victor Crisen.

Janet was our son's violin teacher for 8 years. She was fantastic! She really catered to his interests. She is a patient and encouraging teacher. She kept him interested and challenged. She was very supportive of his concerts and Solo Ensemble - attending if she was available. He continues to play in college. She held intimate recitals in her home which were a great experience for the students. Thanks, Janet!

As an adult student with no music experience, I think that Christine does a good job breaking down the basics into something that can be easily followed. She is patient and will work to accommodate busy adult schedules. She recommended the Samuel Applebaum String Builder book; which I really like as it teaches the basic hand position along with the associated notes. Rather than learning to play by listening then learning the notes. Again she can tailor her lessons based on children or adults learning abilities.

My daughter has been taking piano lessons from Toni for several months. I love that Toni comes to my house to teach, so that I can stay home and work on other projects during her lessons. Toni is extremely reliable, prompt, and responsive. She is very kind and patient, my daughter loves having her come and looks forward to her lessons. She always leaves a clear practice plan, so that my daughter can practice on her own and knows exactly what to do. I highly recommend piano lessons with 10 Fingers Music!

    About

Music has always been my life’s passion! I am a violinist, pianist, and vocalist. I started playing violin when I was 3. My father and uncle were orchestral conductors, so music was the family business. I went to school as a music education major on a full music scholarship, and I also have a masters and doctorate degree in education. I come from Texas, where I taught private lessons for 14 years and had award-winning, public school choral and orchestral programs for 10 years. Recordings of my group are available upon request! As a soloist I have performed internationally and have worked with world-renowned conductors. The highlight of my career was performing two solos for the Pope in front of a crowd of 250,000 people! My lessons are structured to address your needs as a student. I create an individualized learning plan/course for each student. I strive to make every lesson fun and meaningful. I believe students who love music will advance twice as fast. My joy comes from watching others grow, learn and love music as much as I do!
