Me and my family had a great experience with All About you Movers....The Movers was professional and took extreme care of my furniture. They disconnected and set all my furniture back up. I received calls from movers throughout the process while I was waiting on movers to arrive. I would hire again and recommend to my Soldiers.

Patrick arrived a little early and started by laying down pads to protect the wood floors and warping the door jam at the entry point. The small move was accomplished very quickly even with the movers allowing me to put casters under the legs of my furniture to protect the wood floors. All in all they were professional and they knew how to move the furniture (took the back of the sofa which I didn't know that could be done). I am very pleased with their work.

I hired Bust-a-move for a local move travelling about 15miles, from a 2/2 apartment to another 2/2 apartment. I like that they have straight forward pricing. Everything is by the hour and there are no hidden charges for going up stairs or walking longer distance from truck to front door, etc. Also they confirmed the time and location the day before, let me know when they were on their way the day of the move and showed up on time. Or move took 4 hours all together so not too bad. The movers were all very nice and professional. I thought they could have wrapped some of the furniture better and found better placement for our couches in the truck but ultimately nothing was damaged so i can't really complain. They were not the cheapest option out there but in moving i have found you generally get what you pay for. There were also more expensive movers as well. Although i could have saved a couple hundred bucks if i went with the cheapest option i found i was worth it to go with bust a move for a smooth stress free move. I would use them again if i need to do another local move.

Hired Axle Movers on 6/23/2017 to move our two bedroom apartment to our new townhouse. They arrived on time and were all ready to go, the three movers moved really quickly and efficiently. They were friendly and took care in our possessions. Loaded everything into the truck and unloaded at the new place. We were very pleased with the movers and company and would use again if needed to move. Recommend to others to call and set up an appointment for a move.

Our experience with Heirloom Express was truly outstanding. My husband and I had moved out of our previous home and while waiting for our new home to be ready, we lived in temporary quarters while our household belonging resided in 2 very large storage units. The company that made the first part of the move was disappointing to say the least. We hired Heirloom Express to finish the move. Linda told us they would bring 2 trucks and 4 movers and quoted an hourly rate. Five movers arrived at the same price. The crew worked diligently and efficiently from 9 am to around 9 pm, taking extreme care to protect our furniture and other belongings. They all exhibited cheerful and kind attitudes throughout. We could not have been more pleased with everything they did, and Linda should be very proud of her employees. Moving is very stressful, but people like this make it a little easier. While we hope to never have to move again, we will certainly and enthusiastically recommend this company to any one who asks.

One mover showed up on time, the other 2 movers were a little late due to traffic - however they emailed me they were running a little late! The first mover went through my apartment and checked exactly what I needed moved. The mover then started taking boxes out to the curb for when the others came. When the other 2 movers showed up, they immediately started moving my furniture and disassembling my bed. They worked quickly and efficiently. When they arrived at my new address, they also worked quickly assembling my bed. Everything was intact and nothing was broken (glass dining table). Very professional team. I would definitely recommend this mover to anyone!

Absolutely amazing company! On time, professional, did wonders with all the items we had to make them fit into a small space. Darius and his crew are truly Tetris movers. They also asked for blankets , sheets to make sure all items were completely protected for the move. Other companies would just pack the items and collect the paycheck. I would not hesitate to use them for another move. Outstanding!

This is my forth time having Scott's Moving and Labor Service move me and my family, and it will not be the last! They are fast, efficient, affordable and they packed my things so neatly into the truck! Usually movers just throw your things on the truck any kind of way, but not Scott's Moving and Labor Service! I have never had anything broken or anything left, thats why I keep going back to them for my moving needs. The guys are so nice and couteous, they have great communication amongst each other, and they always put my things together right, and honor my special request because im kind of picky when moving. Theres no anxiety for me looking for a mover, Im gonna stick with these guys for the long haul. Thanks again Scott, Shakey and Val for the problem free easy move. Me and my family are sleeping good tonite!

They help me get one of my good church member’s stuff moved out of their home after The Best Movers 4U LLC didn’t complete the job they were paid to do. I would definitely recommend Assembly You. We called them at the last minute once we found out the other company didn’t finish, they went beyond the call of duty to accommodate the needs of the client.

I used these movers again, this time to relocate some huge furniture pieces and a few personal boxes within the state. If I have one regret, it's that I stupidly chose to get a truck and move the majority of stuff ourselves. Their rates were very reasonable and they were quick. I saw them maneuvering my dining table up the stairwell with ease, and it was the most impressive and entertaining part of the move.

Im glad i've hired this Movers. Moving crew was super efficient, friendly, careful, and great. We have moved several times and know many things can go wrong, so we were very happy with how smoothly things went. None of our furniture was damaged, for the first time ever in a move. They even assembled our bed frames. Thanks Prime Movers USA!

Southside Moving and Storage Company were great. They helped me pack and they were very careful with all of my furniture. The movers were on time and they didn't over charge me or add additional fees. I paid the price I was quoted so they are an awesome service and I will definitely use them again.

We were very pleased with our moving experience. The movers arrived on time, were proficient in their work and friendly. We are located in Richmond but that wasn't a issue since they do not charge for travel. They worked with us to get a good quote that would work for both of us. I highly recommend their services.

Coastal Virginia Movers moved a very old and very heavy chest deep freezer as well as an old piano for us. They communicated promptly with us during the planning of this move and on the moving day. They sent 3 movers. The items moved were heavy, rigid, and bulky and they did an amazing job getting them out of the house and onto their truck. They had excellent problem solving skills in finding the best way to get items out without damaging the property. We recommend these movers highly.

        What do moving companies do?

Moving companies provide a range of services to help you physically move out of one residence and move into a new place. But moving companies can do so much more than just haul your belongings across town in a truck. The national average for moving company prices ($250-$350 per hour) reflects the range of services provided. Here are examples of all the ways moving companies can help:

        • Packing: Moving companies can pack your belongings for you. They typically charge a flat rate for both the box and the labor to pack the box. The more time-consuming the belongings are to pack, the higher the cost per box. For example, books could be $5 per box, linens $10 per box, and fine china and glassware $18 per box.
        • Specialty moving: Safely move a baby grand piano, a oversize aquarium, or other specialty items with the help of pro movers.
        • Storage: Many moving companies can store your belongings while you wait for a new home to be remodeled or closing of your new home to be finalized. If you’re moving long-distance, they often provide short-term storage free for a specific length of time, and a set rate after that (such as $60 per square cubic foot of storage space used).
        • Long-distance moves: No need to rent a trailer and move your things; a long-distance moving company can haul your belongings across the country for you. Typically they charge by the cubic foot for moves, with prices based on your destination.
        • Unpacking: Moving companies can even unpack your belongings for you after they have moved them. This is not as common, and will definitely increase the price, but can be helpful if you’re not able to tackle this task yourself.

How much does a moving company charge per hour?

When you’re ready to make a major move, it’s time to research moving companies’ prices. A moving company may charge on average anywhere between $25 and $100 per hour, per worker, for moving services. The price will vary with regional labor rates, local cost to do business, and the level of service the movers are providing. Nationally, the average hourly rate for a moving company is $250-$350 per hour. This price includes a range of pricing, from all-in service with four or more movers on site to standard hourly rates for one or two movers. Other factors that affect moving companies’ prices are packing, stairs (or elevators), and distance. For a full-service move, you pay movers to pack your belongings for you. You may pay for the cost of the moving boxes and an hourly rate per worker, and there may be additional charges for packing fragile items. Stairs will also add to your moving prices. Lifting and carrying boxes and furniture up and down stairs takes more time and creates more physical labor for the workers. Moving companies may charge flat rates for flights of stairs, such as $50-$70 per flight. A moving company may also charge a one-time fee for moving things via elevator, such as $75-$100. If parking is not accessible in front of your home or apartment building, there may also be an additional fee for the added distance to carry your belongings to the truck.

How much does it cost for long-distance movers?

Long-distance movers transport your belongings across the country for you. No more renting a trailer and road-tripping from state to state with your entire house hitched to your bumper. Long-distance movers make the move happen so you can fly to your new home, suitcase in hand, and wait for your furniture to arrive. Nationally, the average price range for long-distance movers is $1,490-$2,230. The distance you are moving and the number of cubic feet the movers have to transport will both affect cost. Another factor in long-distance moving costs is whether you choose to pay for an exclusive move or a consolidated move.

In an exclusive move, which is more expensive, your belongings are the only cargo on the moving truck. The movers travel directly to your new house and deliver your belongings on a scheduled day. A consolidated move is more affordable because the movers transport your belongings along with those of other people, saving them time and gas — which means you save money. The downside is that your belongings typically arrive with a two-week delivery window rather than on a prescheduled day. Read reviews to make sure you can trust the company with your possessions to ensure a peaceful moving process.

How much does it cost to move a one-bedroom apartment across the country?

Professional movers can handle the hard work of moving your one-bedroom apartment across the country for you. You can determine what your move will cost by learning the rate your movers charge per cubic foot and how they factor distance into the total cost. Cross-country movers typically charge based on your belongings rather than apartment size because that determines how much work they will have to do. For example, a studio apartment that is crammed full of things will take more work and moving truck space than the contents of a three-bedroom apartment with very little furniture.

Cross-country movers may also have varying rates, depending on where in the country you are moving. For example, a company may charge $5 per cubic foot for consolidated moves along the East Coast and $6 per cubic foot for consolidated moves from the East Coast to the central states or the West Coast. A one-bedroom apartment costs approximately $1,500 to move across the country.

How much does it cost to move across the country?

The national average cost for hiring cross-country movers is $1,490-$2,220. A number of factors can affect the cost. One factor is the distance you want to move. For example, an East Coast-based moving company may charge $5 per cubic foot for consolidated moves along the East Coast and $6 per cubic foot for consolidated moves from the East Coast to the central states or the West Coast. Another factor is how many belongings you have. Most cross-country movers charge by the cubic foot.

The type of move you want is another consideration in cost. You can have your belongings moved exclusively and delivered on a set day, or you can opt for a consolidated move, which is less expensive. In a consolidated move your belongings are stored and transported with the goods of other customers who are moving to your general vicinity during the same general time frame as you. Your belongings should arrive within a one- to two-week window, rather than on a set day. If you want the cross-country movers to pack your belongings for you, the cost will also increase.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
