About
I would be happy to teach piano in your home. Lessons include: The ability to read music, technique, and theory.
To start, there are four books to the curriculum; includes classical, jazz, folk music from various countries and more. As we move forward we can expand to encompass your interests and strengthen technique.Since your student has already started, we will be able to pick up where he/she left off.
Looking forward to hear from you
-Kirk
When a student realizes he of she can play a piece they enjoy, that moment is my favorite part of my work.

Kirk was introduced to my daughter 2 years ago (She is 9 now). She loves him, and she loves piano. He never misses an appointment, EVER!! He is patient but really expects things from her. He is a very very very good teacher. I would strongly recommend him for any piano instruction, adult or child.

Kirk has been my daughters piano teacher for almost a year now. I have one word that describes him....FANTASTIC!!! He is patient - offers lots of advice, talks about music history and he even offers to pick up her piano books for us. When we first started he helped us find the appropriate keyboard for learning piano and was very patient in the time it took us to buy one. Really - if you want an experienced teacher for yourself or your child - I really recommend him to the fullest! Karen - Newport News Va :)

My 8 year old son has been taking lessons from Kirk for about 6 weeks now and absolutely loves him. Kirk is patient, constructive, and passionate about teaching piano. We are thrilled to have him as a teacher and look forward to when our daughter is old enough to begin!

Kirk is a phenomenal piano teacher. I appreciated the way he tied in teaching the music with teaching the history of the music as well. He did a great job of keeping my two boys focused on the material for an hour. My boys greatly miss his instruction and I can easily say he is the best piano teacher we have hired on three continents!

Mr. Kirk is very pleasant and professional. My 7 year old son is learning piano for the first time, learning to read music, and really enjoying it! He comes to our home, and wears a mask. Very affordable too. Highly Recommend!

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The price is $30 of each 45 minute lesson. Because each student is different, please allow for a full hour of instruction should the student need the extra time. If it is beyond my 10 mile radius. At that point it increases to $35 (if beyond 20 miles the amount would be $40). I offer discounts to households who have more than one student.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We start at the beginning or pick up where the student left off with a previous teacher.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have taught piano (off and on) for over 40 years. Received my original training through piano teachers of my own and finalized with Elena Gibson in California in the 1970s focusing on Chopin and Scriabin. I have taught piano to private students and through the Montessori School system.
