Try several teachers out and try to find the right fit. A teacher that is committed to making each student's experience worthwhile will offer the first lesson as a trial lesson, and will give no hard feelings if you do not choose them. Not all teachers are a good fit for all students. A good teacher will also be flexible to each student's learning styles and try to make the most of each lesson. When it comes to instrumental lessons, always ask yourself, "Did I learn something?" and "Am I having fun?" - The answer should be yes to both questions.
