FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My simple answeer is $40 an hour. $48/hr. for short projects. I do have a whole project rate, but that does get complicated. I will say editing is half the cost. Many customers don't understand that editing involves transferring, researching, editing, rendering, exporting, and distriibuting. The final product might look simple, but getting there takes a lot of thought and work.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am very much self taught, and do my own research and development online. As my 22 year old son once told me, "Dad, anything you want to know is on the internet." Presently, I am studying animation through 85 videos taught on Udemy. It teaches me how to script, create, and assemble a simple 2 minute expaliner video that summarizes the core idea of most any business.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
At 19, I first picked up a camera and said, "I'm going to take the best photo I can." I haven't stopped. It wasn't until 25 that I figure out how to make any money it. After about 4000 negatives and slides I started to learn how to get it right.
