I have never in my life found any other chef in all of the places I've been in my life that has made my taste buds go wild like this man. Chris Dye has a true gift and that gift is to leave you craving his food. If you haven't experienced his mad cooking skills, than I suggest you find out for yourselves, you will never regret that move.

I contacted Chris to see if he could deliver meals to my mother and uncle. My mom recently broke her foot and is 70+ years old. My uncle cannot cook, so for most of the week they live on sandwiches and dinners from Kroger's. My aunt has helped out on the occasional dinner. When Chris brought my mom and uncle their meals for the two days this week, I was so excited with the anticipation to see how they enjoyed the meals. My mom said, "It was like a Five * Restaurant. Thank you Chris for putting your TLC in preparing food for my mom and uncle. I will definitely be using you again and again.

Whitney is an honest and hardworking young woman that we always enjoyed having in our home. She is also a terrific cook that offers a wide selection of meals to choose from. Some of our favorites are her chicken fried rice, lasagna, and burritos. My daughters swear her chicken fried rice is better than P.F. Chang’s, and if burritos are what’s for dinner you may want to skip lunch that day. They are large and they are delicious. Whitney also can do grocery shopping for you which was a huge time saver for us. As an added bonus she is a savvy shopper who knows how to save you money at the grocery store. And last but not least she leaves your kitchen absolutely spotless. In our case probably cleaner than she found it. I highly highly recommend Whitney to anyone that is looking for a little help with meal preparation and trying to get a little work-life balance back in their life.

Working with Tom was great! He worked with us to create a menu for what we wanted to cook. He came to our home and taught us on our kitchen equipment. He was very knowledgable and taught us a lot. It was a lot of fun and the food was delicious. I highly recommend cooking lessons with Tom!

Kristen has a beautiful soprano voice. Over the past three years she has gained more confidence and deeper sense of responsibility. The congregation enjoys hearing her sing very much.

About

With the right skills, eating healthy can be affordable and delicious. While 85% of families living on a tight budget see healthy eating as important, only about half are able to prepare nutritious meals most nights of the week. Food skills are taught in Smart Cooks, like smart shopping, meal planning and healthy cooking recipes, and nutrition can help make healthy eating a daily reality.

About

I provide catering, cooking, decorating, and event planning services. I also make desserts, including "any kind of candy apples" (caramel, chocolate, white chocolate, butterscotch, peanut butter, and red candy), cookies, candies, and nuts of your choice.

Just FYI- I'll be on a retreat until the end of Sept, with limited/no access to phone or internet. I grow up in a commercial kitchen and at the age of 20 completed culinary school. I've been cooking my whole life. My focus has always been to provide quality food with an emphasis on local fresh ingredients. I have a deep respect for the art of cooking and I'm very customer service oriented. As eating is a joyful experience, it’s important that the food be great as it brings people together. I also teach private cooking lessons on-line and in-person (limited). I prefer to cater small, intimate dinner parties, weddings and corporate functions. I offer personal chef services as well.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much do private cooking lessons cost?

You can take private cooking classes to have fun, to learn a new skill, to improve your health, to bond with your partner, to enjoy a playful first date or to have a unique birthday party experience. Nationally the average cost of private cooking lessons ranges between $100 and $150. Prices can vary, depending on where you live, the type of cooking class you’re taking, the ingredients the chef provides, and the reputation of the chef. Cooking classes with Anthony Bourdain will clearly cost more than classes with a local restaurant owner. The number of people in the class will also affect the cost, with group lessons often priced per person to account for the cost of ingredients. For example, for group lessons, a brunch workshop may cost an average of $70 per person, a steak dinner with sides could cost an average of $80-$85 per person, and a sushi lesson could cost an average of $100 per person. Ingredients play a major role in cost, as the chef will pre-purchase the food you will be working with. Weekday classes will usually cost less than weekend classes.
