- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing for private lessons is based on $22 for 30 minute, $33 for 45 minutes, and $44 for 60 minute lessons. Lessons are held weekly and invoices are emailed each month and payment is required in advance. Students can begin at any point in the year and may discontinue at any time with a 30 day notice.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
All new private lessons students must register for private lessons. This can be done online at ValleyMusicAcademy.org or by phone at Nine-Four-Two-Eight-Six-Four-Eight. After registering for private lessons, the assigned teacher will contact you directly to schedule lessons. We do this so that our teachers can be the most flexible with schedule new students. For Musikgarten, students sign up for a class on the same site and attend at the scheduled class times.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
All of our teachers are trained musicians with many years of teaching experience and performance experience. Our teachers have many years of formal training in the applied area of music in which they teach. In addition to teaching at VMA, many of our teachers teach music in public and private schools, and colleges in the area. All of our teachers perform throughout the region and many have performed nationally and internationally as well. All of our teachers and staff undergo and pass a background check prior to teaching at VMA. The Program Director of VMA is a graduate of JMU with a degree in music education and is a former high school band director in the state of Virginia.
