I was originally quoted a price for crown molding, which I agreed to. I advised Ron there was a big stairwell to which his reply was that it wouldn't be a problem. He showed up today at 8 am to do the job, without materials. He walked through and told me he would be back with materials. He called AFTER he left and said it would be an additional $400 for the stairwell. I told him I was willing to go up $250. He said he would call me back. I waited and didn't hear from him. I finally texted him to ask the status. He responded with "I will pass." I tried to call him multiple times, and he will not answer the phone. I have never been treated with such disrespect and unprofessionalism. Communication is a big deal in my book.
Olde World Artisans Inc.'s reply
Originally I quoted a price for 3 5/8" crown to be installed, Later after the job was quoted I was told that they wanted 5" molding. I re-priced the project with the new size, aside from that I went to the job this morning and learned that there was a 20' high stairwell that would be part of the install. Before starting I let the client know that the price would be more. When I called him ton the way to pick up the materials he said that he couldn't pay more than 1500.00 which was short of what I was asking for, therefore I told him that I would have to pass on the job considering the new scope and additional cost of the materials which the client was unwilling to pay for. I don't feel that for one minute I was unprofessional, in fact it was just the opposite were they were trying to get something for free which I didn't allow. I have been in business for almost 40 years and I can smell a rat from afar.

Ron and his crew are very good tradesmen and have done several things for us at our home. Having done home building, there is nothing he can not do for us. His work is quality, and a nice guy! Marsha Vostal
