I had a bad experience with another home services web site in employing a handyman to hang pictures. All including the one I hired were under-employed general contractors open to small jobs but still charging contractors' rates. I was overcharged and needed some picture hanging redone, along with hauling of many large packing boxes from two on my site storage spaces, consolidated to a one self-storage location. To my luck, I discovered "thumbtack" and Joshua Mittie, North West Painting &Home Improvement. I could tell by Josh's profile and speaking with him, he was well qualified, sincere and a family man. Although he is experienced to do a variety of jobs, he charges reasonable handyman rates for the job and gave a spot on estimate of hours and cost for my jobs, subject to his coming over for verification. Josh was very prompt in scheduling, coming over and bringing his truck and trailer for hauling. He very friendly, gave me a lot of good advice (such as buying my own hallow wall anchors to save me his time to buy them, patching dry wall holes, etc.) and worked hard and fast. Josh's great service and charges along with his cordiality, in getting my job done, really made my day. I plan to use him for our future move and any other jobs and I highly recommend his services and thumbtack for home services processionals!

Joshua put up shelving in my kitchen and bath for me. He did a great job and even shortened my shelves when they turned out to be too long in one area. It was a very positive and pleasant experience, overall, and I will certainly contact him for any future jobs around my home. I especially appreciate the care he took with everything and how well he communicated with me.

We have a single story home that had 13 small to medium sized windows that we needed installation services for our faux wood blinds. Josh arrived a little ahead of schedule and completed the job quite quickly. All the blinds were installed well and Josh was very courteous and respectful of our home.
